Should you go Joe? G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra, is the live action adaptation of the beloved toy, cartoon, and comic book staple from Hasbro. It’s an origin story that features the most well known characters from the franchise which includes Duke, Ripcord, Scarlett, Snake Eyes, Heavy Duty, Breaker, and General Hawk. Director Stephen Sommers laces the screen with nonstop action, paired with intertwined back stories and questionable motivations. So, should you check out G.I. Joe?

Paramount Pictures have released a video of G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra director Stephen Sommers in Paris discussing his upcoming film. The featurette shows the director talking about one of the pivotal action sequences of the movie (the accelerator suit chase scene), which has been getting a lot of buzz around the internet. In the chase, Duke (Channing Tatum) and Ripcord (Marlon Wayans) get dressed in these automated suits that allow them to run faster, jump higher and even withstand being hit by a car, or three.

Some promotional stills from this summer’s least anticipated movie G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra have been released. The film is directed by Stephen Sommers, and will debut in theaters next month on August 7. Similar to Transformers, G.I. Joe is based on a popular Hasbro toy line that spawned an animated and a comic book series. The live action version stars Dennis Quaid, Channing Tatum, Marlon Wayans, Sienna Miller, and Rachel Nichols.

Eight movie clips are available of Michael Mann’s gangster mob-thriller, Public Enemies starring Johnny Depp and Christian Bale. The movie, set in the 1930’s, showcases Depp as the brilliant actor that he is. In fact, all of the acting is fantastic, from Bale being torn between what he has to do and what he wants to do, all the way to Channing Tatum, playing Pretty Boy Floyd, a psycho in the movie who made you want to hate him.

Since the “comic book movie” started to happen, actors have realized that being a part of one of them is a terribly smart thing to do. First off, you have a job for at least three sequels, and tons of people will spend their hard-earned cash for a chance to see their favorite comics come to life. This brings us to some current stories of celebrities who are fighting for roles in some anticipated comic flicks.
Brian Austin Green, of “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles,” thinks it’s a good idea for himself to play The Green Lantern. According to Mr. Green, Mr. Lantern should be played as more of a man, and less of a youngster. He’s putting himself out there, trying to meet with producers and such in order to get this role. In Channing Tatum’s upcoming drama Fighting, he re-teams with his A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints director, Dito Montiel, to portray a street fighter on the bare-knuckle brawling circuit of New York City. While promoting that film, Channing also spoke about how unprepared he feels for the likely attention he’ll receive for his upcoming summer blockbuster, when he becomes known to audiences as the live-action version of the action figure G.I. Joe. To balance out all of the explosions, he will also have the romantic drama Dear John, based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook), out in 2010.

Finally, we’ve gotten the first official trailer for Michael Mann’s Public Enemies. Just one day after the release of the film’s first movie poster , Universal Pictures have released the following action packed promo. Is it just me or can Johnny Depp do no wrong? I really do love that man. Anyway, without getting all sentimental you can check out the trailer and judge for yourself.
Public Enemies is set for release on July 1, 2009 and co-stars Christian Bale, and Academy Award winner Marion Cotillard.

The first official theatrical poster for Michael Mann’s gangster epic Public Enemies has just been released. The marketing for the film has been rearing its head since late last year, but today they brought out the big guns (literally). The above photo features Johnny Depp as public enemy number one, John Dillinger. The film co-stars Christian Bale as Melvin Purvis, Watchmen alum Billy Crudup as J. Edgar Hoover, and Channing Tatum as Pretty Boy Floyd. Public Enemies is scheduled for release this summer on July 1.

G.I. Joe!! Sorry, I had to get that out of my system.We’ve just got a hold of four individual posters promoting the Stephen Sommers action flick, G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra. The film doesn’t drop until August 7, 2009, and its top secret trailer is still in hiding somewhere over at Paramount, so these pics will have to tide you over.
