The follow up to the 2007 vampire film, 30 Days of Night has been inching through production undetected by most movie buffs, but I’ve been watching it like a hawk. The last time we heard anything about the film it had to do with the hiring of Ben Ketai as the new director. From that point on several major casting developments have been made that include some familiar TV actors from HBO’s Entourage, Showtime’s The L Word, and even ABC’s Lost.

More casting news to report from the upcoming Facebook film entitled, The Social Network. The David Fincher production already features Justin Timberlake, Jesse Eisenberg, and Andrew Garfield as the main characters in the adaptation based on the book, The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal. It appears that six more actors have joined the cast, and for the most part they’re all under 25.

The Thor rumor mill is getting out of control. This morning we reported that Oscar winner Robert De Niro and Jude Law were rumored to be cast in the Kenneth Branagh Marvel adaptation. Now according to Movieline, Mamma Mia star Dominic Cooper could be getting in on the comic action as well.

Another young actress has been sucked into The Twilight Saga Eclipse. According to MTV another casting announcement was made for the film via costar Jackson Rathbone who plays, Jasper. Former Kyle XY actress Kirsten Prout will play Lucy in the the third film, and will work closely with Rathbone and his character.

The actress will be back on the mainstream bandwagon with a role in the second sequel in the Meet the Parents franchise entitled, Little Fockers. According to THR, Dern has been cast in a significant role where the actress will interact with the youngest members of the Focker clan.

If this latest casting rumor is true, then we know Marvel isn’t playing any games with their upcoming adaptation of Thor. Speculation has risen this weekend over two high profile actors taking on roles in the Kenneth Branagh comic film. Over at AICN, they’re suggesting that two-time Oscar winner Robert De Niro and Oscar nominee Jude Law are on board to co-star.

There’s a casting rumor that the Watchmen, and A Nightmare on Elm Street star may be featured in the upcoming Green Lantern film. Written by 30 Days of Night writer Brian Nelson, Devil is the first film in the Night Chronicles series, a trio of thrillers in which M. Night Shyamalan will create the premise then pass the idea off to other filmmakers to be developed in the future.

Jim Sturgess is set to star in Juan Diego Solana‘s sci-fi Upside Down, reports /Film. According to the site, the feature has been in development with Onyx films and Studio 37 for a while now. Initially Emile Hirsch was in talks to take on the lead role, but Production Weekly confirmed via Twitter that Sturgess will be taking it instead. Kirsten Dunst is also in negotiations for a role in the film, but there’s no word on whether or not she’s officially on board.
