Who’s ready to watch Alice in Wonderland with machine guns?! It may sound crazy but that’s how director Zack Snyder has described his latest live action film Sucker Punch. The movie’s main characters are all female, including a talented actress Snyder has already worked with in the past. At the official Comic-Con press conference for the film the director along with stars Carla Gugino (Watchmen), Jamie Chung, Jena Malone, Vanessa Hudgens, and Emily Browning were all in attendance.
Here’s what went down…

Carla Gugino is set to star opposite her Race to Witch Mountain co-star Dwayne Johnson in the action flick Faster. She will be replacing Salma Hayek who was originally cast as the female lead in the film that will mark Johnson’s return to darker material. As of late he’s been doing more family oriented projects, but Faster is a different kind of animal.

We’ve had Carla Gugino tease us enough with all her sexy posters and telling us that she’s not wearing any underwear, now it’s time to check out the porno-drama with meaning, Women in Trouble. From a brilliant cast, to a uinique story, this is a great film to take your friends to this weekend to have a good laugh without losing any brain cells.

Finally some decent promotion for the Sebastian Gutierrez film, Women in Trouble. It features an all star cast of ladies led by Carla Gugino, who plays a porn star who finds out she’s pregnant. If that’s not enough, there are a pair of strippers, a stewardess, and a psychiatrist all intertwined in a sick, yet comedic plot. The title is fitting because these chicks have issues, serious issues.
Here’s not one, not two, but three posters for the film…

What better way get the boys into theaters to see the upcoming comedy Women In Trouble, from director Sebastian Gutierrez, than by having Carla Gugino look straight into camera and say “I’m not wearing any underwear…” You can say anything else you want, but really, that along with all the positive buzz this film has been receiving since it hit the festival circuit at SXSW should be plenty of reason for you to check it out come November.
Check out the video below where the sexy Gugino and the cute and ditsy Adrianne Palicki talk about their lack of underwear, swearing, lingerie, and spaceships…

The promotion for Women in Trouble has been a little too under the radar for my taste. We’ve barely seen a trailer or even a teaser promoting the movie, which is doing it a real disservice. It stars Carla Gugino as a porn star named Elektra Luxx, in the film directed by Sebastian Gutierrez. If you think these two are a great combo, you should check out the rest of the extensive cast.

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about Zack Snyder‘s upcoming all girl, ass-kicking fest, Sucker Punch. The last time I checked they were playing a serious game of shuffle board with it’s actors. According to Yahoo, we can expect another full blooded female to join the cast in the form of Watchmen alumni, Carla Gugino. The cast currently includes Emily Browning, Jamie Chung, Jena Malone, Vanessa Hudgens, and Abbie Cornish.

Well, apparently the embargo on Watchmen reviews has been lifted. So! To answer the question I’ve been asked many times over, “how was Watchmen?” Here we go! There is no doubt about it, it’s epic. It is unlike any other comic book movie you’ve ever seen. And in honor of Zack Snyder, I’ve made this review R-rated. So deal with it. It’s more real, more gritty, and sorry Dark Knight fans, more dark than any comic book film we’ve ever seen before. In comparison, it makes TDK look clean and shiny. Now don’t get out your pitchforks just yet, it’s depth may also be it’s biggest problem. I’m not sure if the box office is ready for such a dark comic book film. But this is a solid film, not just a superhero flick. Recently we stated that we did not think that TDK was worthy of an Oscar nomination because although is was an amazing film it did not transcend it’s genre and The Watchmen does. There is far more emphasis on the characters, the background, the relationships than there are fight scenes (although don’t get me wrong there are plenty of explosions and special effects for you to enjoy). The Dark Knight, opened a door and now The Watchmen has stepped through it.
*** Some minor spoilers ahead for those of you who have NOT read the graphic novel***
