If you like indie movies, this is a dream DVD weekend for you as it is absolutely loaded with smaller pictures. Sure, there’s still the wide release in there (Takers), but for the most part, this weekend belongs to the little guy with everything from Oscar contenders (Animal Kingdom) to people writing spam e-mails saying their movie should be an Oscar contender (Buried). So set your DVD player for “Arthouse” and enjoy.
Or, if none of that is your bag, you can watch lots of old TV shows on DVD. Or relax with the canine misadventures of Chris Parnell.
Check it all out below…

It’s a whole lot of Ryan Reynolds this week when he gets Buried as a US contractor imprisoned in a coffin in one of the more innovative thrillers to hit theaters in recent years. But does the claustrophobic setting increase the tension or just make the film feel trapped?
Note from the Editor: I entirely disagree with this review, you an read my Sundance review now. But in case some of you want a different perspective, keep reading.)

This weekend, Ryan Reynolds stars in a new thriller called Buried that centers on a man who is just that — buried. He’s not trapped between a rock and a hard place, but he is trapped. The actor was out promoting the film in New York City and spoke to the press about his experience shooting the movie. He answered the one question that was on everybody’s mind, “Are you claustrophobic?” and if not “Were you by the end of this movie?” Check out his response…

Now I’m always one who says that the experience while watching a film can be just about as important as a film itself, but there are ways about taking that too far. Certain films are best with a packed house so that you can laugh or gasp among colleagues, others better for romantic viewings with a thin crowd, some are best with a fine wine or beer, but Buried has taken it to a whole knew level. For the gala screening of Buried at The Alamo Drafthouse at Fantastic Fest on Thursday, September 23 they actually kidnapped and buried four of their viewers and showed them the film whilst buried in a coffin, underground.
I’ve seen this film, it’s claustrophobic enough in the largest of theaters, the idea of having to live it is beyond insane. Hell, they had to pay Ryan Reynolds and even he was on a set! Check out the details about the four people who were buried for Buried and check out photos of them below…

If you aren’t claustrophobic you will be after watching the latest trailer for Buried. It’s the international version, that focuses on the confined area that the main character (Ryan Reynolds) has been forced to call home. Unlike the previous one, this trailer doesn’t have the blatant homage to Alfred Hitchcock. It’s grittier, dirtier, and sucks the air right out of you! Check it out, if you dare…

A new poster has been released for the latest Ryan Reynolds film, Buried. The movie has received a lot of positive praise since it was screened at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and its latest poster puts it in writing. Its features Reynolds’ character stuck in a pine box, which is a horrible predicament to be in, but at least he’s surrounded by comforting words. Take a look at the full poster…

What better than watching one of the most torturous things in the world for 90 minutes than experiencing it!? If you want to go through complete and total hell, you’re in luck! Because Lionsgate will be conducting a mass burial at San Diego Comic-Con 2010! Apparently the The Zombie Walk is too boring for people these days!
I have to say, I don’t really understand what they’re doing. I saw Buried at Sundance and it was one of the most suspenseful and joyfully cringing films I’ve ever seen. The idea of experiencing something like that first hand doesn’t exactly sound fun, but then again I’ve lost track of what all those crazy kids are into these days. Is suffocating in a coffin cool now? What I do know is that starting this Wednesday, Comic-Con attendees will get the chance to become part of a terrifying virtual interactive experience at the San Diego Convention Center.

A new poster has been released for the indie thriller Buried and it looks like vertigo on crack! Both of the previous one sheets had a lot of negative space and were mostly dark and undefined. Here the marketing team decided to step it up a notch and terrorize your pupils with a lot of contrasting colors and patterns. Check out the full sized poster below, if you dare…
