After the theatrical train wreck that was X3: The Last Stand, comic fans everywhere were convinced that the franchise’s only salvation would be the return of director, Bryan Singer. Earlier today, we reported that director Bryan Singer was interested in returning to the X-Men film franchise that he jump-started almost ten years ago. Singer directed X-Men, and X2: X-Men United back in 2003, and was scheduled to take on X3: The Last Stand, before he dropped out to helm Superman Returns. That left the franchise in the hands of Brett Ratner, and the series has been in shambles ever since. This will come as pleasant news for die hard fans of the X-Men franchise. According to THR, X-Men and X2: X-Men United director Bryan Singer may return to the film series after a long hiatus. Following his exit, the third film was directed by Brett Ratner, and the Wolverine spin-off was helmed by Gavin Hood. It turns out Singer is interested in making another film, and has already discussed some future possibilities with 20th Century Fox.

Bryan Singer just knocked someone out of the director’s chair and I think it was D.J Caruso. According to THR, Singer has signed on to direct Jack the Giant Killer. Back in January it was reported that the Eagle Eye director would helm the project for New Line Cinema. Somewhere along the line the studio must have changed their mind, because that is no longer the case.

Bryan Singer has already sunk his teeth into the feature film adaptation of Battlestar Galactica, but that apparently is not enough. The director want’s to tackle another epic project, but instead of the future he’s taking on the past. According to Variety, Singer is up to direct Excalibur. His plate is already filled with several big budget adaptations, but I guess he’s making room for one more.

There have been several rumors regarding who will direct the upcoming feature film adaptation of the hit TV series, Battlestar Gallactica. Earlier this week, X-Men director Bryan Singer was at the center of the most recent speculation. Since there was no immediate confirmation, I chalked it up to wishful thinking. But according to a reliable source (Variety), Universal has confirmed that Singer will direct the Battlestar movie!

Well now he tells us! Apparently, Director Bryan Singer has always felt like the X-Men series was a part of him and is thinking about returning to do another film. Fans were not too pleased when Brett Ratner took over the third X-Men film The Last Stand, while Singer went to start on Superman. Could this be his way of making up for that and Gavin Hood‘s interpretation of Wolverine? Can Singer come back and save the series!?

As a comic book fan I don’t know how I feel about the latest development in the realm of adaptations. According to FirstShowing, we’re going to see a live action version of the comic Freedom Formula: Ghost of the Wasteland. Up and coming screenwriter Michael Finch will pen the screenplay with the potential for Bryan Singer to direct. Freedom Formula is printed by Radical Publishing who teamed up with Singer at last years Comic Con.
