We’ve got some good news for fans of the USA hit “Burn Notice.” The network is producing a prequel and it will center on Bruce Campbell’s character Sam Axe. Aren’t you excited?! Rumblings about the project began at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego and now it’s all coming together. With season four of the show already in the can, they’ll begin filming the movie, and then follow up by shooting season five after that.

Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi are two of the most common actor-director combos in Hollywood. Campbell has made appearances in several Raimi productions in both television and film. Most recently, he’s made appearances in all three of the director’s live action adaptations of Marvel Comics Spider-Man. With the fourth installment of the web-slinging series on the horizon, the question had to be asked. What will Bruce’s role be in the upcoming film?

I love the relationship between Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell. They’re one of the many director, actor teams in Hollywood who have a professional relationship that spans over decades. We’ve all heard about Raimi’s highly anticipated sequel to his classic and career defining, Evil Dead franchise. As of now, he’s got a script in the works and casting on his brain for another installment in the horror series. The director has been open about wanting Campbell to reprise his role as the film’s lead Ash, a character he hasn’t played in over 15 years.

Sam Raimi is in the business of making franchises that stick. We all know that he and film star Tobey Maguire have signed on for a fourth Spiderman film, and now we may see the same revival for Raimi’s Evil Dead series. According to MTV, the director is planning on a fourth installment whether long time collaborator Bruce Campbell wants to star in it or not. Last year Campbell dispelled rumors regarding his involvement with the new Evil Dead by saying, “I think there should be an end to everything.” Too bad for him because Raimi disagrees.

You all know him, he’s Bruce mother fucking Campbell. He has delivered some of the greatest lines in cinema. My personal favorite is: “Good, bad, I’m the guy with the gun.” And if you don’t know who I’m talking about, you need to go out do whatever you need to do, and rent/download/steal Evil Dead or Evil Dead 2, two of the greatest B-films ever made! (Personally I recommend the second one, which I know is odd.)
For the rest of us that are caught up and can share in the excitement. Legendary B-movie actor Bruce Campbell plays himself in the new film MY NAME IS BRUCE. The film will be opening in New York on October 31st and than Campbell will be traveling to each city as the movie opens in it. It will take him two months to do it, but Bruce and My Name is Bruce will hit 15 different markets in a variety of cities by December 19th.
