There was speculation a few months ago that the folks over at Summit Entertainment were looking to stretch the potential of the Twilight franchise with the final film. The last feature adaptation will be entitled Breaking Dawn, and according to Deadline Hollywood, deals have been signed to break the film into two parts similar to Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows.

Twi-hards everywhere can rejoice, we’ve just gotten word on the final installment of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. It’s the last book in the Stephenie Meyers series and is the only title that’s yet to be filmed. The Los Angeles Times, recently caught up with one of the film’s producers and he gave a timeline on when Breaking Dawn will begin production.

The film’s sequel New Moon has raked in nearly half a billion dollars in worldwide ticket sales thanks to its devoted Twihard fanbase. The FX cable network has acquired the television rights to broadcast The Twilight Saga over the next couple of years. They also scooped up two sci-fi movies and an Oscar hopeful thanks to preexisting agreements they have with Summit Entertainment and various other studios.

The stars of The Twilight Saga: New Moon are obviously Edward and Bella, so when we had the opportunity to speak to their portrayer’s Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, we wanted to know how they felt about stepping into their roles the second and third time around. New Moon and Eclipse were filmed closely together so the actors had to shift gears in terms of the story and their directors. They jumped from Chris Weitz to 30 Days of Night helmer David Slade, who seem like polar opposites in terms of vision.
Stewart and Pattinson spoke about the differences between the two films, the Edward/Bella/Jacob triangle, and most importantly when they’ll start production on Breaking Dawn.

Just when I thought the Twilight train had a set beginning and end I get the rug pulled out from under me. According to Cinemablend the studio execs over at Summit Entertainment want to milk their teen vampire cow for all it’s worth. The book series only has so many stories to adapt, and like the Harry Potter franchise it will eventually run out of material. Unlike Potter, the producers of The Twilight Saga want to keep their gravy train going by adding possible spin-offs to the film series.

New Moon, the sequel to the illogically beloved Twilight, started it’s filming last month and is set to be released later this year. It is now being reported from and “inside source” that Eclipse, the third flick in the series, is expected to start shooting by the end of the summer, even though they still haven’t linked a director to the project or even finished the second film. Just to push the leave of ridiculousness even further, it is also being said that, Breaking Dawn, the final installment in this uncontrollable trend, is said to be in the works.
