Bond fans, it’s been four years since Quantum of Solace shrugged its way into theaters with a mish-mashed plot and nigh-incomprehensible editing; now, it seems that 007 (with a little help from American Beauty and Revolutionary Road director Sam Mendes) is set to get back on track with Skyfall. Last week, we shared the clever new poster for the film; today, you can take a look at the film’s new teaser trailer—gunplay, psychiatric interrogations, and erotic shaving ahoy.

Yep, that’s Daniel Craig, and Empire is reporting that this is the first official picture of James Bond in Skyfall, the 23rd film in the franchise. The film is due out November 9 later this year, and shooting is underway, so there’s plenty of time to speculate what madness Bond gets into in this adventure. The film is being directed by Sam Mendes and also stars Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Albert Finney, Naomie Harris, and Javier Bardem.

It looks like Bond is getting classy, and possibly political. According to AICN Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli have announced that Peter Morgan (Frost/Nixon, The Queen), will be joining Neal Purvis and Robert Wade (Quantum of Solace, Casino Royale) to help write the screenplay for the 23rd James Bond adventure.
Woohoo! The two recent additions to the Bond franchise have been great, so the thought of another one is exciting to hear. Although the second film relied a bit too much on the action sequences for my taste, it appears that Wilson and Broccoli have listened to my complaints (yes I live in my own world, and I’m happy there) and will be pulling from the best of the best in order to give their new Bond film an edge.

I’ve had enough of these wild Bond girl rumors people! First we’re told that Freida Pinto is being considered for a Bond girl, and now quite possibly the most unlikely actress in the world is up for the role. Who the hell sees Jennifer Aniston as a Bond girl?

According to the Inquisitr, “Jennifer has all the qualities we are looking for in a Bond girl. She has to be beautiful but she also needs to have brains,” according to a source at the movie production company. “It helps if she’s athletic and able to keep up with intense stunt work a Bond movie demands.”

There are some speculations (mostly from the uncredible source TheSun) that Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionare) is being considered for the next Bond movie.
The only reason this is a possibility is because, Freida Pinto is a very attractive and sexy lady. As we have concluded in the past, The Sun is full of shit.
There is most likely no validity to this, but maybe if the build up enough hype it will come to be. I mean they are still holding to the idea that Danny Boyle is set to direct this new bond film even though he has denied any interest in it.

Watch out everybody, Orlando Bloom is about to go epic… again. In his latest project he won’t play an elf, a swashbuckler, or a medieval warrior, just an average Joe who wants to go where no man has ever gone before! According to Variety, Bloom has signed on to star in The Cross. The film will be directed by Andrew Niccol, the same guy who brought you the Nicolas Cage blood bath Lord of War. Cross is categorized as a “science fiction escape story,” which will be set in a border town.
More on Cross after the jump.

In a surprising move, Quantum of Solace director Marc Forster has been tapped to direct the zombie movie, World War Z. According to MTV, Forster will team up with screenwriter J. Michael Straczynski, who is also penning the script for the Forbidden Planet revamp. Both the director and writer seem to be on the same page in terms of how they want this movie to come across.

I’m sad to see that Slumdog Millionaire and A Christmas Tale didn’t make it to the top 10. Overall things have stayed relatively in the exact same order as last week, except Quantum of Solace knocked everything down a peg as it took the number one spot with a HUGE lead. Eagle Eye got bumped off the bottom (saw that coming) and The Secret Life of Bees is the only fims that managed to jump up a spot in front of the two horror films. The most successful film so far is definitely High School Musical 3. That film was made for $11 million and has already grossed eight times that. And don’t think the DVD won’t bring in just as much.
Here is this week’s box office numbers with total grosses, production costs, and more…

More dependable than your 401k, this coming Friday, James Bond returns for his 23rd adventure in “Quantum of Solace”. It’s been well reviewed so far with a positive tomatometer, should lead the box office this weekend and has already broken box office records in the UK. Initially most were skeptical that Daniel Craig would prove a fitting heir to the Bond throne, but the popularity and boffo revenues from “Casino Royale” has put that skepticism to rest. However, how does Craig’s reboot of the venerable series compare to the others on an economic basis? Or to put it another way, which Bond gives more bang for the buck?
