There is so much going on this week, I thought I should give you guys a quick roundup of some of news in the movie world today that weren’t able to cover today:
- Get to know all the characters of Mike Judge’s film Extract coming out September 4th. The film, which stars Jason Bateman, Mila Kunis, Ben Affleck, and Kristen Wiig is about Joel (Bateman), the owner of an Extract plant, tries to contend with myriad personal and professional problems. Read all you need to know about each character (including character posters) and tell us what you think so far. (Extract-The Movie)
- Steve Harvey’s book “Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man” goes to the big screen. According to Variety, Screen Gems has acquired rights to turn the comedian’s book on advice to women who wanted to better understand their male counterparts. Read about the project and who has signed on so far. (Variety)
- Bob Marley’s documentary, Marley, loses another director. The film was first supposed to be directed by Martin Scorsese but due to scheduling issues he was replaced with Jonathan Demme, but now Demme is no longer part of the project. According to /Film, Demme’s exit occurred after the movie’s producer, Bill Clinton pal Steve Bing, saw the director’s first round of editing and was less than impressed. We’ll have to wait and see what happens next with the film about the reggae icon. (/Film)
Who do you think should direct this film? How cool is it that former president Bill Clinton is part of this film?

The film just wrapped production and a weary Duffy was kind enough to sit down in front of a camera and tell us what it’s all about. Check it out below…
