The Darren Aronofsky feature opened in limited release on December 3 and Fox Searchlight has decided to step it up a notch. The film has received lots of critical praise and is being called one of the best films of the year. The war between Rapunzel and Harry Potter continued this weekend, and readers, the princess won. Tangled (movie review) brought in over $21.5 million while Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I (movie review) plunged to the No. 2 spot with $16.7 million. Interestingly enough, Burlesque (movie review) and Love and Other Drugs (movie review) went up the box office ladder on their second weekend in theaters.
