After the release of a study which indicates that most Oscar voters are wealthy white men, how smart a play does it seem to feature the host of the Academy Awards, Billy Crystal (a wealthy white man), in a sketch in which he appears in blackface? Well, it’s a play that the Oscars ran with on Sunday night, and it’s catching a bit of criticism (beneath the cacophony about who wore which designer brands, of course).

In an attempt to show how edgy and hip the Academy Awards can really be, the Academy decided to hire the clever folks at Funny or Die to make a trailer for the 84th Academy Awards ceremony. And, despite being jam-packed with cameos by celebrities no one will really care about (host Billy Crystal, Robin Williams, Josh Duhamel, Megan Fox, William Fichtner, and Vinnie Jones) and loaded with horridly unfunny jokes (young people text a lot! HA!), the trailer–gosh, get this!–lands flat on its face.

The Muppets cast continues to grow at an alarming rate with this latest bunch of actors. Over the past week we’ve heard that nine actors have come on board for various supporting roles and now three more have signed on. If you told me ten years ago that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson would sport a pink tutu, and fairy wings I would have called you insane. But that’s exactly what’s happens in Tooth Fairy, a family comedy that stars Johnson as the fabled creature who takes children’s teeth and leaves them money under their pillow. The film is directed by Michael Lembeck and he literally places Johnson in the land of fairies and forces him to act out every children’s fantasy known to man. It may be a joy for the kids but it turns out to be a nightmare for the adults…

Prepare yourself for a few painful minutes of video watching. A trailer has been released for Dwayne Johnson‘s upcoming family comedy, The Tooth Fairy. Last week we brought you the poster for the film that scared me and many of our reader sh*tless. It featured Johnson with wings and ice skates, so you can understand the terror factor. Now that the trailer has been released, it adds a whole other level of weirdness thanks to the use of powder blue spandex and fairy dust.
