What a morning for trailers! The Wolfman is now online, just after the first Avatar was released. We’ve all been waiting for the first look at Joe Johnston’s film starring Benicio del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, Emily Blunt, and Hugo Weaving and now it’s finally here.
A little something to take with you into the trailer…
Even a man who is pure of heart
And says his prayers by night
May become a wolf
When the wolfsbane blooms
And the autumn moon is bright.
Apparently, it’s an Old Gypsy poem that quite obviously goes with the film. Watch the trailer and check out three new pictures from the film below…

Even though its release date has been pushed back several times, the updated Wolf Man film continues to put out promotional material. Over at Bloody Disgusting, a few new photos have been released and they feature stars Benicio del Toro and Emily Blunt in action. They mostly show del Toro in his “man state” as opposed to his werewolf counterpart, but it’s better than nothing.

Is the modern day remake of the Wolf Man horror classic cursed? How much can this poor film take? According to several media outlets including Variety, the film has been pushed back for not the second, not the third, but the fourth time! It won’t be released this year at all, and has been bumped to 2010 instead. Universal Pictures have shifted it’s release from later this fall to early next year, where it will compete with films of a more romantic caliber.

There have been rumors/news of re-shoots on the set of Joe Johnston‘s The Wolfman for some time now, but nobody knew what or why they were re-shooting. A total of six weeks to be exact. According to Baz Bamigboye, the “Wolfman” was not quite up to par, as “the Wolf was on its heels and it looked daft.” They are reshooting the scenes with the newly beefed up Wolfman. There is news that a new scene compliments the new “Wolfman.” Bamigboye quoted the studio saying…

Actor Benicio Del Toro must have taken more than a paycheck away from his portrayal of Latin activist Che Guevara. He’s taking the motivational spirit from his role in Che (above), and has applied it to his life (without all the violence). According to the Associated Press the actor recently cut his vacation short to visit the Bayamon Regional Prison in Puerto Rico. The actor went to offer encouragement to inmates who are participating in the facilities jailhouse theater group.
More on his visit after the jump.

There have been more rumors about this film than about Bigfoot. It seems like almost every A-list actor has been considered for the part. A while ago it was rumored that Sean Penn and Johnny Depp would be signing up for Larry and Moe in The Three Stooges update. Apparently, half of that rumor is true. The studio has just signed on Penn to play Larry. He will begin shooting as soon as he completes his work in his other more dramatic project Cartel. One thing is for certain, Penn is definitely running the gambit on movies, Milk, Cartel, and The Three Stooges. What’s next? A superhero?
Next in line, is the role of Curly. The studio is currently negotiating with Jim Carrey (a surprise choice) for him to play the role. Rumor has it that Carrey plans to gain 40 pounds to approximate the physical dimensions of Jerome “Curly” Howard. When did Carrey go method? Can’t they just use a fat suit?
Moe seems to be causing the most issues though…

Let’s hope that for this film, no news is good news. The last we heard of The Wolf Man was of it getting pushed back several months, from April to November, hopefully because they wanted to perfect their art and not for any other reasons. For those of you who don’t know who Rick Baker is, he’s an Academy Award-winning special effects makeup artist genius. You’ve probably seen his work in many of your favorite films including, King Kong (1976), Star Wars, Men in Black, The Ring, X-Men, and MANY more. He’s just posted some of his concept art for Benicio Del Toro’s transformation in Joe Johnson’s The Wolf Man on zbrushcentral.com. It’s really amazing. Check it out below… Continue Reading
