Over at Cinematical they’ve premiered the final theatrical poster for the upcoming CG animated film, Astro Boy. The film’s cast features Kristen Bell, Bill Nighy, Nicolas Cage, and Freddie Highmore as the title character. Not too long ago we debuted the latest trailer for the film, which looked amazing, so now it’s time for the newest poster. Check it out below.

“Based on the classic Japanese manga, Astro Boy follows a young robot with big-time super powers who ventures off on a journey in search of acceptance when he’s doesn’t quite meet the replacement son expectations of the scientist who created him. And it’s on this journey that Astro Boy faces his toughest challenge yet: help save earth from an alien race threatening the planet.”

Astro Boy hits theaters on October 23, 2009, and is directed by David Bowers.

A new trailer has been released for the upcoming CGI animated film, Astro Boy. It’s the same video that premiered at this year’s Comic-Con, and I can tell you from that experience it’s pretty awesome. The film stars Freddie Highmore, Kristen Bell, Donald Sutherland, and oddly enough Nicolas Cage. Why is he in everything lately? They’ve already released a couple of teasers for Astro Boy but this one is the real deal.

We have photos from the latest animated hero that will be hitting theaters, David Bowers‘ Astro Boy. The most recent version of the film includes voices by the likes of Nicolas Cage, Kristen Bell, and Bill Nighy. The film is set in futuristic Metro City, which is why the photos are so cool. Embarking on a journey in search of acceptance, Astro Boy encounters many other colorful characters along the way.

Through his adventures, he learns the joys and emotions of being human, and gains the strength to embrace his destiny. Ultimately learning his friends and family are in danger, Astro Boy marshals his awesome super powers and returns to Metro City in a valiant effort to save everyone he cares about and to understand what it takes to be a hero.

From the looks of it, we will be in for a real treat. The images show that whatever is lacking in the plot, if anything, they more than make up for in the animation. The film which promises to be full of action, adventure, humor and heart, is set to be released on October 23rd.
