David Mamet, the quick talking, witty writer/director has decided to take on something new, the Holocaust – and more to the point, one of the most famous people to come out of the Holocaust, Anne Frank.
When I think I Mamet I think of the Pulitzer prize winning screenwriter who came up with “steak knives” for Glengarry Glen Ross and “A good plan today is better than a perfect plan tomorrow” for Wag the Dog, I don’t immediately jump to one of the most haunting and beautiful stories from WWII.
That being said, the writer/director has bought the writes to the new rendition of “The Diary of Anne Frank” and plans to writer and direct the film…
