As May approaches the studios are pushing out the promotional materials for many of their summer tent pole films. This week alone has been dominated by clips and posters, from Paramount’s Star Trek so it’s no surprise that Sony Pictures wanted to make a push for their Da Vinci Code sequel, Angels & Demons. A video clip has been released that features returning lead Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) as he tries to convince the leaders of the Vatican to allow him access to the church’s archives. In typical Da Vinci Code fashion, the swelling music in the background screams, “we’re running out of time!” Isn’t it convenient this clip was released on Good Friday?
Check out the clip after the jump.

What I also like better about international posters is that they’re always a little more violent and dramatic than the US ones. Although I have enjoyed the angelic and demonic, give and take of the Tom Hanks posters for Angels and Demons, I really like the intensity and the fire behind the new Stellan Skarsgård and Ewan McGregor posters. I also love how they’re finally featuring someone other than Tom Hanks.
As I mentioned before after seeing a good 5-6 minutes of the film, I don’t want to like this film, but it looks REALLY good and so far ever image that has come out of the film has been really great. I think we’re going to be forced to like this one.

Out of all the presentations I think this one probably has been the most impressive. They just screened some never before seen clips and trailers for District 9 (trailer coming in a couple of weeks!), The Ugly Truth, Angels and Demons, Julie and Julia, Year One, and The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3. Every single one looks amazing for what it is.

Let the protests begin! A new TV spot has been released for this summer’s Angels & Demons. The film is the sequel to the 2006 blockbuster the Da Vinci Code and will once again team director Ron Howard with lead Tom Hanks. The first film grossed a hefty 758 million after it’s theater run. This film along with its predecessor has been targeted by the Catholic Church and several other religious organizations due to its holy content. From what I’ve seen in the past with projects such as this and The Passion of the Christ, their involvement only brings more attention to the film. It just makes people want to know what the hoopla is all about.

Yet another Angels and Demons poster has just surfaced on ComingSoon.net. Apparently, Columbia Pictures is beginning the flood of Angels and Demons pictures, clips, and more in order to get their huge opening weekend. I still think they’re going to have to rely on cool images to get this film off the ground.
This posters is not as interesting as the other more demonic poster, but it’s definitely not bad. It features Tom Hanks (of course) but this time he’s surrounded by more angelic light and images. My guess is that this one is supposed to balance the last out the poster which was far more demonic.
Check out the poster below and let us know what you think…

A new poster for Angels and Demons just surfaced on FirstShowing.net, if this poster proves one thing, it’s that the film has the potential to look amazing. The color scheme and the layout builds of the poster builds tension. I love how it looks like the read is slowly circling him in.
Whether or not the films looks can make up its potentially over-complicated plot-line and wordy explanations I don’t know. But it certainly LOOKS like it has potential.

Wow. This film is looking a lot different than I expected. It looks far more action-y than it’s predecessor, The Da Vinci Code, in this trailer. Both films were directed by Ron Howard, who is known more for his dramatic-edge than for having big budget Michael Bay-type action, but perhaps Howard found the perfect balance in this film. A bit of special effects mixed with story-telling might be just what the series needed. It’s like The Transformers Goes to The Vatican.
Whatever they do, I’ll be there just to watch them tear the Vatican apart. I mean, who could miss that? Check out the trailer below the jump…

IESB has just released a slew of new photos from Angels and Demons, the sequel to The Da Vinci Code.
The film is directed by Ron Howard and stars Tom Hanks (of course) along side Ayelet Zurer and Ewan McGregor. The film is again, based off the bestselling novel by Dan Brown. The story goes that Langdon discovers evidence of the resurgence of an ancient secret brotherhood known as the Illuminati – the most powerful underground organization in history – he also faces a deadly threat to the existence of the secret organization’s most despised enemy: the Catholic Church.

They really did it! They made the sequel to The Da Vinci Code. I’ve known it was happening, but I didn’t believe it until now. I needed proof in the form of a trailer I guess.

The trailer is, well, somewhat limited, seeing as it’s only a teaser. Looks much more Hollywood than the last.
Check out the trailer below. Definitely a lot of BIG music by Hanz…
