On Monday we reported that Angelina Jolie would star alongside George Clooney in a film loosely based on the latter years of Marilyn Monroe’s life. Jolie was set to play Monroe and Clooney would star as Frank Sinatra (why won’t he do a Carey Grant biopic already?). The film is called The Life and Opinions of Maf the Dog, and of His Friend, Marilyn Monroe and it’s based on the book of the same name. It was from its author Andrew O’Hagan that the casting news was announced regarding the two actors but according to The LA Times, it’s not true. Jolie won’t be going blonde anytime soon — at least as Marilyn.

The movie that was originally a vehicle for Tom Cruise is a far cry from the Oscar winning actress’s next project. Jolie is set to star in the latest biopic centering on the Egyptian queen Cleopatra. News first broke regarding her involvement with the project in early June and while out promoting Salt, she’s adding more fuel to the fire.
