We’ve just received another casting update for JJ Abrams latest television series, “Alcatraz.” Thus far the roster consisted of “Lost” alum Jorge Garcia and TV regular Sarah Jones, now according to a report from Deadline we can add Dr. Grant — we mean, Sam Neill to the cast. He’s the latest actor to join the prison-centric drama.
Last week we learned that JJ Abrams tapped his “Lost” acting reserve for his new television series “Alcatraz.” The producer brought on Jorge Garcia who played Hurley on the island drama to fill a pivotal role on the show. Today, we’ve learned that he’ll be joined by a fresh face in the form of Sarah Jones, who’s been hired to play the female lead in “Alcatraz.” Do we have our next Keri Russell, Jennifer Garner, Evangeline Lilly, or Anna Torv on our hands?

According to a recent report from EW, JJ Abrams has joined forces with screenwriter Jonah Nolan (The Dark Knight) for a new television drama called “Alcatraz.” Abrams already has a couple of shows currently in production (“Fringe”, “Undercovers“) but that hasn’t stopped him from shopping around this new project to networks.
