We have some good and bad news to report regarding the upcoming drama Arbitrage. According to Deadline, Oscar winner Al Pacino is no longer attached to star as the lead. But don’t fret because one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. The silver-haired Richard Gere is now in talks to pick up where Pacino left off.
Earlier this week it was confirmed that Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro would join forces again for their ninth feature film entitled, The Irishman. De Niro has been talking about the film since early this spring and now it looks like everything’s really coming together. In an interview with MTV, he revealed that not only was he on board, but so was Al Pacino and Joe Pesci.
Gael Garcia Bernal is about to get in the best shape of his life for his next role. The actor has signed on to star in a biopic that’s based on the long career of boxer Roberto Duran. The film is called Hands of Stone and while Bernal will be stepping into the ring as the fighter, Oscar winner Al Pacino is in negotiations to play his trainer Ray Arcel. Can’t you just imagine Pacino being the Mickey to Bernal’s Rocky?
If Robert De Niro was to star in a film with both Al Pacino and Joe Pesci, would the world explode? It seems like it would. De Niro starred opposite Pesci in Raging Bull, Goodfellas, and Casino and alongside Pacino in Heat and Righteous Kill. Adam Sandler may have found his new leading lady in Katie Holmes according to a report from THR. The trade claims that the actress is in talks to star opposite Sandler in his upcoming film Jack and Jill, a comedy that has the actor reuniting with his Grown Ups director Dennis Dugan. Not only will Holmes be going against Sandler but she’ll also be going toe to toe with Al Pacino, who in the film plays — Al Pacino. Seriously!
