A Nightmare on Elm Street is set to hit theaters on April 30th, and the marketing behind the film is in full force. We’ve recently discovered a few Freddy Krueger toys, which I’m assuming are geared towards an older crowd because these would terrify any normal kid. They feature several versions of Jackie Earle Haley’s character pre and post burn and there’s even an image that shows him on fire! Check out the creepy photos below…

A new poster has been released for Samuel Bayer’s A Nightmare on Elm Street and it features a full sized Freddy Krueger. In the other posters for the film we’ve only been exposed to a shadow of his face or his hand, but this time around we get to see his entire figure. It looks like the director and Platinum Dunes are really trying to tap into Freddy’s old school horror image, and it’s working.

Just as we promised, the new trailer for A Nightmare on Elm Street has been released! The teaser debuted months ago in September, and now we’ve got the theatrical version. It premiered over on MySpace this morning at exactly 12:01 AM, and it looks…interesting. Freddy Krueger (Jackie Earle Haley) is back, but not in a campy-comedic way. He’s revisiting his horror roots…

The Platinum Dunes remake of the 1984 horror film A Nightmare on Elm Street will be released on April 30th, but so far we’ve only seen photos featuring the elusive Freddy Krueger. That’s why we’re happy that we came across four new images from the film that highlight the rest of the cast including Rooney Mara and Katie Cassidy.

MySpace has just released the new teaser trailer for director Samuel Bayer’s new adaptation (which I’m beginning to think is more of a direct copy with a few scenes added) of A Nightmare on Elm Street. Fans of Wes Craven’s 80’s classic by the same name will note that they have a lot of throw backs to the original film. In fact, they’re not even throw backs, some shots are almost directly copies from the original film (anyone else being reminded of Gus Van Sant’s Psycho right now?). If anything that tells you how well the first film still stands up today, but also makes you wonder about the remake.
You may notice that there is a character missing from the trailer. Kellan Lutz’s character, Dean isn’t from the original film, although maybe he’s taking the place of Johnny Depp’s former character Glen Lantz? Nancy and Marge Thompson are back again from the original cast along with another of familiar faces.

One, two Freddy’s coming for you. Three, four better lock your door. Five, six grab your crucifix. Seven, eight gonna stay up late. Nine, ten never sleep again! Jackie Earle Haley should get used to that tune since he’s taken on the role of horror icon, Freddy Krueger. The actor made an appearance at this year’s Comic-Con to promote the remake of 1984’s, A Nightmare on Elm Street. As usual, in person he’s the exact opposite of the sadistic characters he plays onscreen.
Check out what Freddy… I mean Jackie had to say after the jump!

Last week we debuted the first photo of Jackie Earle Haley as the infamous child killer Freddy Krueger in the remake of 1984’s A Nightmare on Elm Street. Today we have another visual treat for you in the form of the film’s first official poster. Once again Krueger’s face is shrouded in darkness and there’s not much to see. I really think the creators are trying to keep his face under wraps until the film’s opening nears. Even at the Warner Bros Comic-Con panel his face was obscure in all the footage that they showed. Hmm….
Check out the full poster after the jump!
