Andrew Stanton‘s John Carter has gone through a paradigm shift in its marketing. Earlier it was selling moody shoots that didn’t really tell the story of Taylor Kitsch‘s titular Carter, who is missing from Earth and thought dead. It gave a hint of his role as savior for Martians, with one played by Willem Dafoe. Now, (as they made obvious recently ) it’s an action movie. Check it out…

Though The Odd Life of Timothy Green and the nature film Chimpanzee had trailers shown (and Jennifer Garner talked briefly about Green), the majority of attention for Disney’s live Actions films at D23 went to The Muppets and John Carter. The Muppets went over like gangbusters, while Carter just busted. There was also a brief presentation on Oz: The Great and Powerful, which just started shooting. Our report follows.

Ready for more vampires? Of course you are! No one ever gets sick of them, do they? Hope not because Hollywood isn’t giving until they’ve drained every last cinematic drop from them. Daybreakers has tried to break the mold by making vampires the new human race. Sounds interesting enough, but did they pull it off? It’s debatable, let’s take a look…

Two new photos have been released in promotion of the latest vampire thriller entitled, Daybreakers. It’s interesting that these photos have surfaced right after we asked our readers whether or not the Hollywood vampire trend was on the decline. This film is definitely no Twilight and focuses on the gory side of these bloodsuckers.

The upcoming adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs John Carter of Mars, has a cast filled with established and up and coming talent. One of the film’s more familiar faces will be that of Willem Dafoe, who plays Carter’s sidekick in the film. Too bad he may be unrecognizable, since he’s playing an alien warrior. The actor recently spoke to the AICN, about his role in John Carter and revealed, that his character has four arms and is 9 foot tall!

An exclusive poster has been released for the upcoming flick Daybreakers over at MTV, and it looks a hell of a lot better than the teaser from a few months back. The film is a vampire tale that meshes horror and science fiction with Oscar nominee Ethan Hawke at the center of it all. Daybreakers is directed by Michael and Peter Spierig and will hit theaters on January 8th.

What a good chance to talk a little bit about Lars Von Trier’s new film Antichrist, starring Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg. I went to a screening of it a couple of weeks ago and have yet to come up with the words to describe how I feel about the film. Mainly I just make little noises and look confused before having a flashback and cringing.
They have just released a new HD trailer which really emphasises both the beauty and terror in the movie. Check it out…

Wow. Leave it to Werner Herzog, a director known as much for being crazy personality as his crazy pieces of art, to bring us a greek tragedy set in modern day. He has just finished his second of two films and not long after we get the trailer for his first film, Bad Lieutenant, we now have the trailer for his second project which was produced by David Lynch, My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done starring two of my favorite actors Willem Dafoe and Michael Shannon.

It’s time for a film that no one has heard of! Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant, (yes I know, another vampire film) which is kind of like a horror film for kids, starring John C. Reilly, Ken Watanabe, Josh Hutcherson, Chris Massoglia,Willem Dafoe and Salma Hayek, and directed by Paul Weitz.
I have no idea what to say about this movie. I want to hate it and yet I find the trailer amusing (damn you John C. Reilly for being so good in everything).
Check out the trailer, the poster and photos below…
