The actor has been using his personal Facebook Page as a means to give fans updates on the movie including this latest jewel. He posted the first piece of concept art that features him and some type of mutated creature. We’re not exactly sure what it is but it looks like it’s kicking his ass…

After it was announced that Rob Cohen wouldn’t be returning for another XXX film, fans of the original film let out a huge sigh. They were sad for all of two seconds because that news didn’t stick. Apparently he WILL direct the third film which will reunite him with star, Vin Diesel. After being through many ups and downs at Columbia Pictures, the project has been moved to Paramount and the studio will take over the franchise, finance the production, and distribute the film for late 2011 or early 2012.

Vin Diesel burst onto the scene back in the late nineties with supporting roles in Saving Private Ryan and Boiler Room, before making his mark as a leading man in 2001 with The Fast and the Furious. From that point on he was a box office success, headlining such films as 2002′s XXX, which spawned another action packed franchise. Even though he didn’t return for the second film in the series, there had been word that the actor would reprise his character, Xander Cage for the third. According to CineFOOLS, that might not be the case.

The second XXX sequel is moving forward as scheduled. Earlier we reported that Vin Diesel planned on reprising his role as extreme sportsman Xander Cage in the follow up to Ice Cube‘s stint in 2005′s XXX: State of the Union. According to Yahoo, the actor will be joined by a new director to helm the feature, which will be amply titled XXX: The Return of Xander Cage. More on the film below.

One of the biggest films of the year hits shelves this weeks as Fast & Furious roars onto DVD and Blu-Ray.  There’s also some SciFi TV on DVD to check out and three worst DVDs of the week.

I know this may sadden millions of XXX fans around the world, but I’ve got bad news to report. Rob Cohen, the man who directed the 2002 hit starring Vin Diesel will not be returning for the third film. In an attempt to forget the abomination that was XXX: State of the Union Sony plans on producing a second sequel to the original entitled, XXX: The Return of Xander Cage. Yep, Diesel’s ready to return, but Cohen has opted to back out in favor of Medieval, a period piece for New Regency.
