For the July 1 release of Transformers: Dark (Side) of the Moon, it’s been interesting to see the returning cast and crew go on an apology tour. Star Shia LaBeouf has said he knows the film sucked, and Michael Bay has made similar comments. Which is funny in that the second film made over $400 Million domestic, and does have a number of apologists. But for the third film – which stars LaBeouf along side Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, John Malkovich, and Megan Fox replacement Rosie Huntington-Whiteley – they’ve said they’re going back to basics. Super Bowl commercials have come out a little early this year. The big game doesn’t take place until February 6, but we’ve got one of this year’s most anticipated ads right now! Chevrolet decided to do a little cross promotion with Transformers Dark of the Moon by featuring everyone’s favorite yellow Camaro in their commercial. It’s been almost two years since Michael Bay’s Transformers Revenge of the Fallen hit theaters and people are still recovering from it. The film was a box office success but critically it was panned six ways from Sunday. Fanboys who anxiously awaited its released were even turned off by the lame story. After the dust settled, Bay and star Shia Labeouf acknowledged that there were some issues with the sequel that they couldn’t deny. Now that the third film Transformers Dark of the Moon is upon us, it’s time to really clear the air.

It’s the follow up to 2009′s Revenge of the Fallen and it features the return of Shia LaBeouf, Tyrese Gibson, and Josh Duhamel. Over the past few months we’ve seen our fair share of behind the scenes footage and photos from Michael Bay’s upcoming Transformers sequel, but nothing official. The film opens in theaters on July 1, 2011 and we haven’t seen a teaser, or a legit poster promoting it yet.
