Earlier this year NBC did us a favor by performing a mercy kill on “Heroes.”  The fantasy series that showed so much promise during its first season had become unbearable by its fourth. When the series was officially canceled back in May there was a mixed reaction from fans. Some people wanted it to continue so it could redeem itself and others were happy to see it go. There was word that a TV movie might be in the works so they could tie up some loose ends but according to EW, that’s not going to happen.

Last week it was confirmed that NBC would no longer hemorrhage money from their bank account to produce Tim Kring’s sci-fi series, “Heroes.” The show ran for four seasons, introduced the world to Zachary Quinto, and unfortunately also Hayden Panetierre. When “Heroes” debuted on NBC back in 2006 it took the TV world by storm. The sci-fi show got under our skin and became one of the most watched programs on the network. But somehow, four years later the series that used to pull in 17 million viewers each week dropped to under 5 million. Many of us faulted the writers and the creative direction of Tim Kring but according to him there’s more than enough blame to go around…
