Remember when you were a kid and you’d tune in to a wild cartoon about a bunch of cats that walked on two legs and lived on a planet called Thundera and had to battle the Mutants of Plun-Darr in order to protect Sword of Omens (which guards the Eye of Thundera, natch)?  No?  Oh… well, me, either.

But if you did, than you know that I’m talking about the insane cartoon series ThunderCats, which ran in the mid to late ‘80s and was, again, totally insane.  And you’ll be happy to hear that the series has been inexplicably rebooted and is set to air on the Cartoon Network—and we have the trailer.

The new “ThunderCats” TV series is on its way courtesy of The Cartoon Network. We previously posted the first trailer promoting the show (if you haven’t seen it check it out), which was met with mixed reviews. Some people like the creative liberties the animators have taken with the character design, while others don’t. There’s also a new voice cast and a different tone to the show, that’s a lot different from the original. One of the voice actors who’s featured in the series in the amazingly talented Kevin Michael Richardson (“Family Guy” “The Cleveland Show.”) Richardson recently spoke about the revamped “ThunderCats” team and revealed some info about the leader Lion-O.

The ThunderCats are headed back to the small screen to capture fans from a new generation. A few weeks ago, we got our first glimpse of the new animation’s design and to say that it was different would be an understatement. Warner Bros has been trying to revive the franchise for years. Wow. Throw some kitty make-up on Brad Pitt, Hugh Jackman, and Vin Diesel and you got yourself a Thundercats trailer! I see Troy, Plant of the Apes, and X-Men to start with, but they there are a plethora of films in there. Although, it’s pretty well put together for someone with no actual footage. I love the added voice over.
