TheAdjustmentBureauDVDALP6 20 11 New DVD Releases: The Adjustment Bureau, Unknown, Cedar Rapids

The DVD picks are loaded this week with no fewer than eight feature films landing on shelves with choices that range from the smart comedy of Cedar Rapids to the cheap thrills of Unknown and all points in between.

But that’s not all. There’s two TV shows that I’m pretty convinced nobody has ever actually watched unleashing their sixth and seventh respective seasons on DVD, plus a Bradley Cooper movie that I’m sure he wishes never saw the light of day. Plus, the six other feature films!

rango la 3 7 11 Weekend Box Office: Johnny Depps Rango Guns Down $38 Million

Step aside Coen Brothers, there’s a new western film in town, and it stars a green cockeyed lizard in some authentic cowboy attire, Rango. The Johnny Depp animated featured followed the success of last weekend’s top choice Gnomeo and Juliet lassoing in a hefty $38 million during its opening weekend. Another successful newcomer was Matt Damon and Emily Blunt‘s The Adjustment Bureau. The Universal picture was No. 2 making over $20 million.

Though our box office predictions were rather popular, we didn’t get it all right, we had predicted that Beastly would be down in the bottom half of the top 10, but the romance-fantasy film surprised us and came in at No. 3 grossing $10 million.

adjustmentbureau2 28 111 The Adjustment Bureau: Movie Review

The Adjustment Bureau, AKA a little something for everyone. Much like what I predicted when they released some clips for this film, this is very much a story with a lot of running around, a lot of “I love you, come back!”, and some cool special effects. It’s kind of like the Bourne films mixed with some Romeo and Juliet, with a sprinkle of Inception and a pinch of religion — like I said a little something for everyone. But, the real reason to see this film for more than that, check out why below…

adjustmenbrueauME2 15 11 Clips: The Adjustment Bureau Lots of Love and Mind Reading

Some new clips from George Nolfi‘s upcoming thriller, The Adjustment Bureau have just been released and have confirmed that Matt Damon’s character is in fact in love. Just to prove it, EVERY scene seems to be about his character being in love, with a bit of mind-reading and world-swapping in the midst of his love story. My fear, too much pining and not enough psychedelic mind-blowing.

Matt Damon is on the run again and this time it has nothing to do with Jason Bourne. The actor’s next film The Adjustment Bureau will have him fighting for his destiny thanks to a group of “adjusters” and their pre-determined mumbo jumbo. Universal has just released a behind the scenes featurette with the stars of the movie, and it’s a little eerie. Check it out…
