We watch a lot of movie trailers here at ScreenCrave, and, as we inch closer to summer with its ever-increasing torrent of new films, we’re seeing more and more previews with each passing day. As we do so, we can’t help but notice some similarities, repetitions, and clichés among them. Here at Trailer Park, we’ll be offering a rundown of those clichés, where they come from, and which trailers share them. For our first installment, we’ll be breaking down one of summer’s most ever-present previews: The Heist Movie Trailer.

If you like indie movies, this is a dream DVD weekend for you as it is absolutely loaded with smaller pictures. Sure, there’s still the wide release in there (Takers), but for the most part, this weekend belongs to the little guy with everything from Oscar contenders (Animal Kingdom) to people writing spam e-mails saying their movie should be an Oscar contender (Buried). So set your DVD player for “Arthouse” and enjoy.
Or, if none of that is your bag, you can watch lots of old TV shows on DVD. Or relax with the canine misadventures of Chris Parnell.

Take that! Take that! Take that! George Clooney and his lone rifle took down Idris Elba and Paul Walker’s entire crew over the Labor Day weekend. They’ve still got Monday to rake in more dough but so far The American has topped the charts earning over 12 million dollars from Friday to Sunday. It’s a weak start but it was strong enough to hold off both Takers and Machete’s $11 million.

This weekend attractive thieves and warriors will attack the box office with the help of a demon possessed teenager. Today, the heist film Takers opens nationwide and it stars Idris Elba and Paul Walker. It centers of a group of professional criminals who take on their biggest job yet at the insistence of one of their oldest enemies.
The Last Exorcism is the latest horror project produced by Eli Roth that stars Patrick Fabian and Ashley Bell in a documentary style feature that centers on a faithless preacher who tries to save a girl’s soul.

Takers is what happens when half of Danny Ocean’s crew is combined with the team from The Italian Job, and the assassins from 1998′s The Big Hit. These are professional thieves, who dress nice, drive fast cars (and bikes), and aren’t afraid to kill someone when it comes to their money. Takers isn’t a particularly special heist movie but the actors try their best to make it one (and they look pretty good while doing it).

Do you have a craving for some really bad acting, stagnant fight choreography, and unnecessary and misused explosions? Lucky for you a new trailer for Takers has been released and it satisfies all those requirements. It’s an over the top action film with a premise that’s been used so many times it should be in public domain at this point. Takers stars Idris Elba, Paul Walker, Hayden Christensen, Chris Brown, Michael Ealy, Zoe Saldana, and Matt Dillon. Watch the latest trailer, if you dare…

Late last year there was some subtle hype about a little film called Takers, an action flick that stars 90 percent of Hollywood’s worst actors and features one of the most cliched plots in cinematic history. It even made our Top Ten Worst Movies of Summer 2010 list. But even with all that hate, it keeps coming back for more. Over at IMP Awards they’ve unveiled a new poster for the film and just like everything else about it, there’s no originality…

Earlier today we posted the first teaser poster for the upcoming action film, Takers. To be completely honest, it looked horrible. My reaction wasn’t unwarranted, and plenty of our readers felt the same way, but one of them brought something to my attention. An official trailer for Takers has just been released, and it actually gives us the opportunity to see what this ragtag team of actors are trying to do. If you were terrified by the film’s poster, the trailer may be too hot for you to handle.
Here’s the first trailer for Takers…

After looking at the poster for the upcoming action film, Takers I’m convinced that someone should be fired. Takers is a heist movie that centers on a group of thieves who plan to pull off one last bank robbery before giving up their criminal lifestyle. Takers stars Idris Elba, Paul Walker, T.I., Chris Brown, Hayden Christensen, Michael Ealy, and Matt Dillion.
The poster for this film is really bad, so be careful with your eyes…
