Fall is officially in full swing, and that means that all the major movie studios are celebrating the season by releasing their Oscar-bait projects. These are the pictures that feature less “badass action” and more “sensitive, nuanced performances by Philip Seymour Hoffman and Sean Penn.” So, rather than reviewing all of these films individually, we decided to do what any dedicated movie-goer would do: judge them based on their trailers.

Stone hits theaters with a thump. This is a film packed to the brim with ideas and a lot of potential. The fact that you have Robert De Niro and Edward Norton facing off in some pretty intense scenes definitely helps the film as a whole. Sadly it lacks any grand significance in the end that you’ll be craving after going through such an intense experience — but then again, that might just be the point, you don’t always get what you want.

Robert De Niro and Edward Norton reunite for the indie drama Stone, directed by John Curran. Movies with love-triangles are overrated, and sadly, it’s always the woman who’s called a whore, but when two men like De Niro and Norton are involved, all clichés go out the window, especially when the woman is Milla Jovavich. Check out the trailer…

Earlier this year we told you about the indie drama Stone, that reunites Robert De Niro and Edward Norton. It seems like just yesterday we were reporting on their casting, and now a trailer has already been released. Stone is directed by John Curran, and centers on a correctional officer who’s seduced by the wife of a convicted arsonist (Norton) up for parole. Let me preface this trailer by saying it is not safe for work.
Be careful, because plenty of nudity and foul language will ensue…
