For better or ill, perhaps it was George Lucas that defined in our cinematic culture the importance of a trilogy, of an end point. Before him, the number of sequels or spin-offs were only limited by an audience’s interest. So it should be no surprise that Lionsgate’s co-chair said they want to make a sixth Twilight movie to The Hollywood Reporter. They’re just waiting on Stephenie Meyer to write another book.

Does Stephenie Meyer and Summit Entertainment have no shame? I understand that filmmaking is a business but how much more can the general population take? The Twilight Saga has held a heavy hold over the teen and tween crowd for the past year and it’s showing no sign of letting up. It’s creators are stopping at nothing to maximize their money earning potential by pretty much reselling the same product but in a prettier package. According to EW, Yen Press will be republishing Twilight, but in graphic novel form! Dun, dun, dun!

Does the above poster make you wonder about all the relationship angst that will take place in the Twilight sequel, New Moon? Well paging all members of Team Edward (Robert Pattinson), this will not be the film for you! Die hard fans already know about the problems that Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward will face in the follow up to last year’s hit, so the latest movie tie-in should be no surprise. Stephenie Meyer‘s second book has been given a makeover, and now features three of the film’s stars. Over at EW, they’ve posted the cover image of the book, and it’s all about Team Jacob (Taylor Lautner).
