Rom-Com lovers get to bug out this week as Something Borrowed lands on DVD with the dubious honor of the first real summer release to hit shelves. Oh happy day!
But the real winner this week are period film buffs who get The Conspirator and Jane Eyre on DVD this week. Two films which, after much investigation, I’ve determined were released this year. Who knew?
Not only that, but season five of everyone’s favorite Showtime Serial Killer, two excellent Special Editions and the worst DVD of the week!

Something Borrowed, directed by Luke Greenfield and based on the internationally acclaimed novel by Emily Griffin hits theaters this weekend. Standing toe-to-toe with highly anticipated Thor, I’m certain the filmmakers are banking on their celebrity-stocked cast to score serious numbers at the box office. After last weekends scorching debut from Fast Five, Thor will look to capture box office glory this weekend and attempt to prove it self as a solid box office contender. Meanwhile new comedic releases such as Something Borrowed and Jumping The Broom will battle it out to round out the top 5.
The biggest question this weekend is just how big will Thor open? Or will it be another big budgeted may movie flop ala Speed Racer, Kingdom Of Heaven,and Robin Hood. Thor has garnered solid reviews which could generate a much needed jolt in terms of buzz, throw in the ever likable Natalie Portman, and moviegoers need for a summer blockbuster and Thor should be able to open solidly in the number #1 slot.
