It’s the fourth and final installment in the long running animated series that will bring some closure to the ogre, Donkey, Fiona, and of course, Puss in Boots. This year we’ll see another sequel in DreamWorks’ highly successful Shrek franchise entitled, Shrek Forever After. The studio is gearing up for the release of the fourth film in the series, which has been a steady cash-cow at the box office. This time around, it will make its debut in a big way when it opens at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York.

It’s truly the season of giving because all the movie studios are releasing trailers and posters for next year’s biggest films. First Iron Man 2, then Clash of the Titans, and now we have the newest Shrek sequel, Shrek Forever After. It’s the fourth and final film in the DreamWorks animated franchise, which will debut during the 2010 summer block buster season.

Over at USA Today, they ran a feature on the film entitled, Shrek Forever After and revealed some info about when we can expect the first trailer, and whether or not it will be the final installment of the series.

Is there really no limit as to who or what can get spun-off into a feature film? Puss in Boots, the feral feline whom made his debut in Shrek 2 is getting his own movie, and according to ComingSoon it will be an origin story. They recently spoke to Puss in Boots’ portrayer Antonio Banderas about the character’s future in the upcoming Shrek film as well as his solo effort.
