As requested, we will be revealing no plot information, spoilers, or many details about Disney/Pixar’s latest addition to the Toy Story series, Toy Story 3. There are very few films out there that I support trilogies of and this is one of them, mainly because they proved with their second film that it could be just as good as the first.
The version that the screened for us here at ShoWest still had a temp score, it was in 2D and the animation was not 100% complete. It’s very hard, even for the most imaginative minds to get the full experience of a film when it’s not completely finished.

The 2010 ShoWest Film Festival isn’t just about premiering the latest movies, but the latest advancements in the movie watching experience. A company called TPG Rewards has developed a new mobile software that will make buying theater tickets more convenient, and it’s called M-Movie Cash.

I just left the screening for Toy Story 3 and a decade after the release of the previous film, this one is definitely a worthy follow up. One of the great things about attending ShoWest are the first looks you get to see for upcoming films including. Much like in the theaters, Disney/Pixar screened a short film entitled Day and Night before the feature and (as always) it was amazing. Simple and smooth, yet poignant and sentimental.

Between their recent problems with The Wolfman being pushed to Land of the Lost and Funny People basically being ignored, out of the billions of dollars spent at the cinemas very little of it went to Universal in 2009. Their highest grossing film of the year came in at #17 and it wasn’t even one to be proud of, it was just another sequel in The Fast and the Furious series. It’s safe to say that 2009 was a complete disaster for Universal… and they know it.

Just got into ShoWest last night, got my passport and had my first glass of free wine at a cinema during the event. There’s something very nice about relishing in your favorite alcoholic beverage while watching a movie. Gotta love Vegas!

ShoWest premiered the green band trailer for Get Him to The Greek, a slapstick comedy about a nerdy assistant who is sent to go get an out of control rock star to The Greek theater for a performance. As simple and cliched as the premise may be they have cast the film well enough that it looks like it may just be worth a watch. Both actors are playing the exact same characters that we’ve come to know them for. Jonah Hill is a complete nerd with no social sense and Russell Brand is, well Russell Brand.

Katherine Heigl will be honored at this year’s ShoWest event in Las Vegas as the Female Artist of the Year. In the past the title has been given to the likes of Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston, and now she’s getting in on the action. The event will be held on March 15-18, 2010 and she’ll receive her award during ShoWest’s Final Night Banquet and Award Ceremony. This is great news for the actress but what did she do in 2009 that was so career defining?

Sadly, the ShoWest footage that Michael Bay put online has now been pulled. Apparently, according to IESB who somehow got a chance to speak with Bay, it was never meant to stay online…
The Showest footage was pulled down because it was just a 12-hour thing.
I just wanted the fans to get a taste of what we have been making for a year and a half because we have been so quiet. The piece was cut about a month ago for this Showest thing I accepted this past month – so as you can see many of the shots were far from being finished renders. This dinky little site received over 1,500,000 hits and 550,000 downloads in this short time. Anyway the trailer is being printed today and coming out on Wolverine and Star Trek. 64 days left!
Michael
Bay seems to be in a talkative mood as we also just got word about his new “indie” film, which he plans to shot between Transformers 2 and 3.
