They’ve just premiered the fourth trailer (the one that they showed us at ShoWest) for Despicable Me and we’ve got it for you below! Although this film isn’t exactly up my alley, if it’s half as good as the trailers, I’m there! Silly? Yes. Stupid? Possibly. Fun to watch? Sure seems like it!
The film features the vocal talents of Steve Carell, Jason Segel, Russell Brand, Will Arnett, Kristen Wiig, Danny McBride, and Julie Andrews. The film is directed by Chris Renaud and Pierre Coffin, and will be released in theaters on July 9, 2010.

One of the biggest films to hit theaters this year is Part I of the Harry Potter finale entitled, The Deathly Hallows. During the Warner Bros presentation at the 2010 ShoWest convention, they gave an exclusive first look at some never before seen footage from the film. This stuff is so new that parts of it was actually screened without any special effects.

One of the highlights to come out of the Warner Bros panel was the screening of new footage from Christopher Nolan’s top secret film, Inception. For the past year we’ve been in the dark as to what the movie is really about and even after its first trailer was released we still had no clue. The question is, did ShoWest give us something to grasp onto that might give us an idea of what Nolan has in store?

The wait has been rough, but in a few months Sylvester Stallone‘s The Expendables will hit theaters. So far, this film seems to have more ‘umpf’ in it than any other action film coming our way (excluding Kick-Ass, of course). Lucky for us, a new poster has just been released as well as some long awaited buzz from the ShoWest trailer premiere.

…it kicks ass. Much like the title of this film, Kick-Ass is very straight forward. It has one idea, one concept and it follows through 100% with what it promises to do. There’s no debate over the rating, no lines that they’re afraid to cross, it’s just a simple comic-book story about a guy who is anything but your typical hero. The fight scenes are extremely well done, every actor in it was extremely well cast, and although the dialogue is ridiculous at times, it was surprisingly realistic.

It’s dangerous territory remaking the 1984 cult classic that brought us “wax on, wax off.” The 2010 version of The Karate Kid is simply a remake of the original premise but set in a different location. The film is produced by Will Smith, and is directed by Harald Zwart.
In the film Jaden Smith stars in the the lead as a troubled youth named Dre who encounters a severe bully when he is forced to move overseas to China due to a job his mother played by Taraji P. Henson has to take. In order to stop getting beaten up he has to learn how to fight with martial arts master Mr. Han played by Jackie Chan.
So, is the remake worth it?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m enjoying ShoWest, they premiere a lot of great new footage and movies, but when it comes to their award system, it does feel a bit… staged. Much like how before Toy Story 3, John Lasseter joked about loving the fact that every time he makes another movie ShoWest comes up with an award for him. A number of these “honors” seem more like a popularity contest for upcoming films than actual career achievements. But hey! They got Zach Galifianakis listed as “Best Comedy Actor” so they can’t be completely wrong.
See how the rest of this year’s winners stack up…
