We watch a lot of movie trailers here at ScreenCrave, and, as we inch closer to summer with its ever-increasing torrent of new films, we’re seeing more and more previews with each passing day. As we do so, we can’t help but notice some similarities, repetitions, and clichés among them. Here at Trailer Park, we’ll be offering a rundown of those clichés, where they come from, and which trailers share them. A pretty solid week on DVD headlined by the super-anticipated Blu-Ray release of the original (I say that trying to jinx the inevitable remake) Back to the Future trilogy.
But if 80s movies aren’t your thing there’s still plenty of new movies to float your boat with a pretty broad range. Sex and the City 2 is perfect for the more mainstream blockbuster crowd. Winter’s Bone is all set for everybody outside of New York and Los Angeles who want to catch an Oscar contender before it blows up the precursor circuits but didn’t get the chance in theaters. Finally, we also get the next installment of the millennium trilogy in the Rooney Mara-less The Girl Who Played with Fire. Yes, it’s the Swedish version. All that, plus some really bad TV on DVD!

Whether you like action, horror, or chick-flicks, there’s something for everyone hitting theaters this week. Two major blockbusters have been released including the long awaited sequel Sex and the City 2, which brings Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Samantha (Kim Cattrall), Charlotte (Kristin Davis), and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) back to the big screen.
The other is Mike Newell’s action adventure, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton, and Ben Kingsley. The film is based on a video game, which follows an adventurous prince who teams up with a rival princess to stop an angry ruler from unleashing a sandstorm that could destroy the world. Definitely worth checking out.

Ladies, retire your Cosmopolitans and put the stilettos back in the closet because Sex And The City 2 marks the end of an era. Sadly, HBO’s favorite foursome don’t go out with a bang. Other than their fabulous array of designer clothing, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Catrall, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon do little to keep the audience aroused.

This weekend Sex and the City 2 will hit theaters going toe to toe with Disney’s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Unlike the latter SATC, will debut on Thursday, May 27th as opposed to Friday, which will give it a one day advantage over the competition. The first two teasers only highlighted Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw and now the other ladies are getting in on the action. Even though the gang’s all here they’re hard to recognize because they’ve been photoshopped to death. Everyone in this poster looks like they got attacked by a Crayola crayon…

After a long and drawn out two year hiatus those New York fashionistas are ready take the city by storm…again.
