This summer has brought an onslaught of comic-book movies, but the tide has turned against them. From Thor to X-Men: First Class to The Green Lantern, none of these super-expensive movies have managed to crack $200 Million at the box office, the number Superman Returns made (and that was considered a failure). Partly it’s the films, partly it’s the characters – many of whom aren’t as well known as Batman and Superman. Enter Captain America: The First Avenger. It’s a relief to say it’s entertaining, and will hopefully buck the trend. Find out more below….

If you were one of the few people who saw Hot Tub Time Machine last weekend you got a glimpse of actor Sebastian Stan. He played a paranoid douche bag named Blaine, but in real life he was one of the many guys in line to star as Captain America when the role was up for grabs a few weeks ago. In the end, the part went to Chris Evans, but he’s not sad because he just got cast as Cap’s sidekick, Bucky Barnes.

Director David Mackenzie (Asylum, Wanting and Getting) brings us a new comedy about Los Angeles, titles Spread, starring Ashton Kutcher playing the prick that we all know he could be if he wasn’t such a nice guy, alongside Anne Heche, Margarita Levieva, Sebastian Stan, Rachel Blanchard, and Sonia Rockwell.
The film is about an attractive man who sleeps his was into a privileged life in Los Angeles. The film is described as an “immorality tale” about a guy who gives women what they want in order to live exactly as he likes. That is until he of course falls in love.
