Stewart proved to be a good talker, and was enthusiastic about the film, and the 3-D version of the film.  Check it out…

Update: Be sure to check out the first poster of Karl Urban as the villain, Black Hat.

After multiple delays and a 3D conversion, Screen Gems upcoming Manga adaptation Priest has made its way to San Diego Comic-Con. The film is officially scheduled to hit theaters on May 13, 2011 and reunites director Scott Stewart with his Legion star Paul Bettany. Today we took part in the official roundtable interviews for the film that not only featured Bettany and Stewart but co-stars Maggie Q, Karl Urban, and yes Cam Gigandet from Twilight.

The entire event was light and funny. Bettany was hilarious and his young son (who was in the room) came up to him in the middle of the interview and gave him a big kiss! It was very sweet. Later on Stewart was speaking and Bettany came over after he left the table and interrupted to ask the director a question. It was very loose and relaxed. Do you want to hear the other unexpected surprises that popped up? Take a listen…

legioninterviewkj10 01 22 Interview: Paul Bettany, Scott Stewart for Legion

This weekend, writer and first time director Scott Stewart will debut his action-thriller Legion to the masses. It’s a tale about the second coming of the apocalypse at the hand of a legion of angels. God sends his most trusted soldier Michael to unleash Hell on earth to punish mankind for their disobedience. Instead of carrying out his wishes, the Archangel has a change of heart and decides to protect the people instead.

Paul Bettany makes his action hero debut as Michael, the only hope earth has after God sends in reinforcements led by his right hand angel, Gabriel. Between the actor and the director there was plenty to talk about regarding not only Legion, but their upcoming graphic novel adaptation, Priest. We found out how Stewart went from being a visual effects geek to sitting in the director’s chair, and we also discussed the possibility of a Legion sequel…

Legion is the latest post-apocalyptic film to hit the market, and it stars Paul Bettany in an unconventional yet angelic role. Legion is a Christian-themed movie, with a splash of zombie-horror, Western ideals, and a whole lot of action.

Scott Stewart plans on making the jump from renegade angels in Legion and bloodsucking vampires in Priest to psycho soldiers in Psy-Ops according to THR.  The director came up with the initial story for the project, and went on to develop it with Gus Krieger. Bold Films have picked up the story and already have a director attached. Also, the film won’t be based on the video game of the same name, I just liked the about photo.

Legion Red Band Trailer

legion paul bettany comiccon 31 Legion Red Band Trailer

Finally the trailer that we saw weeks ago at Comic-Con (read our first look) for the upcoming religious epic Legion has been released and it looks absolutely amazing. The film centers on the archangel Michael (Paul Bettany) and his journey to protect a young woman (Adrianne Palicki) and her unborn child. The trailer is just as creepy as it is beautiful.

The best part about this trailer is that, even though Doug Jones is assisted by special effects, we finally get to see his face on screen! Jones’ is known for playing almost every interesting animal-like creature in Guillermo del Toro‘s films, such as Pan in Pan’s Labyrinth, Abe (the Fish-Man) in Hellboy, and many more.

Check out the red band trailer after the jump…
