Talk This Waltz is one of those films that is on the verge of being an indie darling and it’s easy to see why it’s found its place at Tribeca Film Fest. It’s a film quite obviously made by experiences and talented artists all around and has the potential to be great. Michelle Williams, gives another stunning performance, Sarah Silverman gives a wonderful performance and struts her stuff (literally and figuratively) on screen and Seth Rogen shows us yet another side of his talent. And they all do it with some extreme styling. Find out why this film is almost amazing…

- The Walking Dead logged 7.3 million viewers last night for AMC’s zombie show. That’s the highest rated basic cable in the history of basic cable, says Variety. Word has been somewhat mixed on the pilot (we reviewed it), but the Halloween timing and these ratings assure a third season.
- Speaking of renewals, Sons of Anarchy has been given the greenlight for a fifth season.

This is not a film you will soon forget. After seeing Splice all I could say when asked what I thought was, “I uhhh… wow.” The trailer makes it look like it was a scary, “jump out at you” type film — and although it has its moments — the film has no cheap scares but may mentally scar you forever. It’s safe to say, that this film goes for it full steam and reminds us all how fun it was to be surprised by quality film-making and a unique story.
If you ask me, the first few trailers for this film set you up to be a bit confused. You’re probably better off not paying attention to them and just taking my advice — if you like fucked up, well shot, well told films, you won’t find a better film than Splice.

Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley star in the upcoming thriller Splice, set to release some time in September. Director Vincenzo Natali is sort of new to the scene and is best known for his movies Cube and Nothing.
In Splice, Clive, played by Brody, and Elsa, played by Polley, create a “beautiful but dangerous winged human-chimera” named Dren. Clive and Elsa use a combination of human and animal DNA to create this odd and creepy looking creature. The idea of Splice plays off of 1995’s Species but thanks to modern technology is much more realistic and frightening. To view more pictures of Dren and the other characters in the movie check out Bloody Disgusting.
