That’s right, Conan is back in yet another beefy form in the 2011 adaptation Conan the Barbarian. Jason Mamoa, the man who has recently caught the attention of audiences for his massive physique and his role on the hit TV series “Game of Thrones” suits up, or rather, takes it of, for his latest role as the epic character. It’s hard to really critique a film like this, because its goal is not something I seek out in films. It’s specifically tailored to fans of Conan and action, dramas with nearly no humor or character development. That being said, for what it was, the film was a good time and had some of the best 3D that I’ve seen in a while…

It’s hard to know what to make of the Conan the Barbarian reboot. Will Jason Momoa have the same appeal as Arnold Schwarzenegger did when he took on the role? Will Marcus Nispel deliver a quality sword and sandal epic, or will this be another big budget film that ends up looking like a slightly more expensive Syfy movie? Hard to say, but the film is going for the R rating, and this trailer highlights some of that bloodshed. Check it out…

No, that’s not a Yanni album cover, it’s an image from the teaser trailer for the Marcus Nispel remake of Conan the Barbarian! The teaser for the August-bound sword and sandal film is a little smokey. Actually, it’s mostly blurred images and impressions of sword swinging and women and for those hoping to get a bearing on Jason Momoa take on the lead role made famous by Arnold Schwarzenegger, you’re going to have to wait for the next trailer. This is a teaser in the classic sense of the word – you’re not getting much but impressions. Take a look…

The other day we came a across a poster for a new film called Dead Awake. It looked like something that would appear on the SyFy Channel or even the Lifetime Movie Network because of its cheap design. Therefore, we were more than a little surprised to discover that it was a theatrical release that stars Rose McGowan, Nick Stahl, and Amy Smart. The first trailer for the film has debuted on Yahoo Movies, and we’ve got it for you below…

Over the years Danny Trejo has made a living being the scariest, meanest, most badass ‘that guy’ in Hollywood. Need a psychotic Mexican to scare the shit out of a kid? Call Trejo. Need a stand-in to remind everyone not to ever, ever fuck with a guy who rocks a horseshoe mustache (while wearing leather) unless he taps your foot underneath the stall first? Dan’s your man.
Over time, we’ve gone from being vaguely weirded out by Trejo to wanting to model expensive glassware after his asymmetrical face. He’s not just a success story. He’s the success story. I move that we just skip the pretense and admit our man-crush and speculate over what woman from his new movie Machete deserves to be his arm candy. Contestants will be judged on personality, compatibility, and their kill factor. Why kill factor? If you’re around Danny Trejo, somebody always dies, that’s why.

It’s been a while since we’ve heard any progress on Robert Rodriguez‘s remake of Red Sonja. The comic book character was previously played by Brigitte Nielson, with actress Rose McGowan set to take over the role. Thanks to the creepy networking device that is Twitter, McGowan has cleared the air once and for all on whether or not she’ll bring the red haired vixen back to the big screen.

Is there life after death for the much talked about Barbarella remake? Robert Rodriguez has been attached to the project for ages, along with actress Rose McGowan as the lead. That deal fell through when the director and the studio had several “creative differences” over the shoot for the project. According to Yahoo, veteran Italian filmmaker Dino De Laurentiis is giving the film a new lease on life.
