Now that the buzz surrounding, this morning’s Oscar nominations has gone down a bit, let’s do some analyzing shall we? The most notable and surprising nominees in my opinion are Richard Jenkins for The Visitor and Michael Shannon for Revolutionary Road. It’s obvious that Jenkins took DiCaprio’s spot in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role category, but who saw Michael Shannon coming? As a Best Supporting Actor nominee he came completely out of left field. Who is this Michael Shannon? Where does he come from? What else has he been in? Let’s find out!

Set in 1955, the plot focuses on the hopes and aspirations of the ambitious Frank and April Wheeler, who leave the city to raise their children in the Connecticut suburbs, where they see themselves as very different from their neighbors in the Revolutionary Hill Estates.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet meet up again in Sam Mendes‘ new film Revolutionary Road. The story is about a young couple living in a Connecticut suburb during the mid-1950s struggle to come to terms with their personal problems while trying to raise their two children.
This is what would have happened if Rose and Jack would have stayed together. It’s all passionate at first and then the real fights start.
