Last year, the internet was hit with a wave of terrifying photos that featured rapper turned actor Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. He appeared gaunt and dangerously frail and no one knew why. It turned out that he dropped a massive amount of weight to appear in a film called Things Fall Apart. It’s a drama that centers on a college football player who’s struck with cancer. Over on Vulture, they’ve posted the film’s unofficial first trailer and it shows us where all of Jackson’s hard work went…

Ray Liotta is doing legitimate film work again. The Goodfellas star has been cast in Andrew Dominik’s upcoming feature Cogan’s Trade. The drama is headlined by Brad Pitt and several other actors who are more than a little familiar with the director. We’re talking about Casey Affleck and Sam Rockwell (who’ve both been confirmed).
Over the past week, several hilarious news pieces have surfaced online and we’re not just talking about Tom Cruise and his booty dance with JLo (although we’ve covered that thoroughly). We’re referring to the recent developments surrounding the old TV series Voltron, the questionable divinity of Betty White, and the cult world’s fascination with Ray Liotta. It’s all here…
Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson wants people to take him seriously as an actor, so he’s decided to go the method route. Move over Christian Bale from The Machinist, there’s a new malnutritioned character headed to the big screen. The rapper is known for his beefy physique but has traded in his muscles for skin and bones to star in the feature film, Things Fall Apart.
There just isn’t a shortage of Michael Cera coming of age comedies out there is it? A trailer has just been released for Youth in Revolt. It’s a film by Miguel Iterta, and co-stars Zach Galifianakis, Justin Long, and newcomer Portia Doubleday. For the most part it’s that same deadpan comedy that we know and love, with a touch of romance and a dash of multiple personality disorder. Believe me, it looks crazier than it sounds. You can view the trailer below.
A while ago we reported on an upcoming comedy called Date Night that stars funnyman Steve Carelland funny lady, Tina Fey. The film is directed by Shawn Levy and centers on a married couple who’s lives end up in danger during one of their routine “date nights.” The earlier cast includedMark Wahlberg, James Franco, Taraji P. Henson, Kristen Wiig, Leighton Meester, and Common. Three more names have been added to this list, and I think they’ll make some great additions to those already involved.

Mickey Rourke is hot right now with The Wrestler building up Oscar hype, mainly due to his performance, but that isn’t slowing down his work schedule. Currently he’s playing a Texas cowboy in Director Géla Babluani’s remake of 13 Tzameti. Babluani wrote and directed the original and is returning to the project to make an American version. Sounds like a challenge. The cast is definitely interesting. The film stars Rourke, Jason Statham, Ray Liotta, Ray Winstone and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.
This could be great of it could just fall of the face of film-earth. We’ll see! The trailer for the original film is below the jump.

The film asks a great questions “Why do so many, risk so much, to cross over our boarders.” The film is about the desperate scenarios that immigration enforcement officers, immigrants, and residents are faced with when dealing with all different types of immigration. Writer-director Wayne Kramer explores the allure of the American dream, and the reality that immigrants find in 21st century L.A.
