For those of you not going to see Angels and Demons this weekend, or possibly looking for a second film to make it a double feature, I would highly recommend The Brothers Bloom.
The film is about two brothers Stephen (Mark Ruffalo) and Bloom (Adrien Brody), who are the two best con men in the world. The brothers have been swindling the rich since they were kids (watch the introduction to the film). They decide to take on one last job with the eccentric heiress Penelope Stamp (Rachel Weisz) as their mark.
To get an idea at exactly how “eccentric” their target is, check out her entrance to the film clip below…

Where has Madeline Stowe been for the past few years? The actress was everywhere during the eighties and pretty much dominated the early nineties in film’s such as a Twelve Monkeys and my personal favorite, The Last of the Mohicans. Academy Award winner Rachel Weisz is in talks to portray one of the most beautiful and iconic actresses from Hollywood’s golden era. According to THR, Weisz is “loosely” attached to star as MGM legend, Hedy Lamarr in a biopic focusing on her complicated and multifaceted life. The film entitled Face Value, will be directed by Amy Redford (daughter of Robert Redford), who made her directorial debut last year at the Sundance Film Festival.

The first seven minutes of the upcoming film The Brothers Bloom has just been posted by First Showing has posted with an intro from the Director Rian Johnson. The film stars Rachel Weisz as a rich heiress and Adrian Brody and Mark Ruffalo as brothers Stephen and Bloom, the greatest con men in the world. They plan to do one last job: take Rachel Weisz around the world while simultaneously taking all her money.
This isn’t some trailer that is stitched together to make the film seem awesome. It’s a genuine, roughly 7 minute clip from the start of the film. A preface, if you will. It tells a complete story within itself, of how the brothers got their start (which is both cute and sad), while intriguing the viewer with the possibility of further story development, and we know there is.
Go give it a watch after the jump…

The Brothers Bloom is Rian Johnson’s colourful, energetic and enjoyable follow up to his 2005 debut, Brick. However the fans Johnson won with his debut will be divided over his latest effort, which stars Adrien Brody, Mark Ruffalo and the excellent Rachel Weisz.
The Brothers Bloom is the story of world’s greatest con men, who have made a living off of swindling millionaires with complex scenarios of lust and intrigue. The brothers team up with their silent partner and sidekick Bang-Bang (Rinko Kikuchi) for one last job, conning beautiful heiress Penelope (Weisz) by taking her on a tour of the world and relieving her of $2.5 million.
