We get so used to see Hollywood stars like Rachel Weisz, Jude Law, Keira Knightley on the big screen that sometimes we forget that they actually take their acting abilities and apply them… on stage! Seems like they’re doing well because all of the above mentioned celebs along with James Earl Jones and Melanie Chisholm aka Mel C of the Spice Girls, were among the nominees listed for Britain’s Laurence Olivier theater awards.

The film involves a rape and murder of a child, by a man who seems to be evil for no good reason. Peter Jackson, Stanley Tucci, Rachel Weisz, Mark Wahlberg and Ronan all stepped onto the project weary about the subject matter but optimistic about how the could represent the light that shines through the dark….

For those of you not going to see Angels and Demons this weekend, or possibly looking for a second film to make it a double feature, I would highly recommend The Brothers Bloom.
The film is about two brothers Stephen (Mark Ruffalo) and Bloom (Adrien Brody), who are the two best con men in the world. The brothers have been swindling the rich since they were kids (watch the introduction to the film). They decide to take on one last job with the eccentric heiress Penelope Stamp (Rachel Weisz) as their mark.
To get an idea at exactly how “eccentric” their target is, check out her entrance to the film clip below…

Where has Madeline Stowe been for the past few years? The actress was everywhere during the eighties and pretty much dominated the early nineties in film’s such as a Twelve Monkeys and my personal favorite, The Last of the Mohicans. In her spare time she must been working on her transition from actor to director, because she’s about to make her official debut. According to RopeofSilicon, Stowe will direct the period drama, Unbound Captives.

Academy Award winner Rachel Weisz is in talks to portray one of the most beautiful and iconic actresses from Hollywood’s golden era. According to THR, Weisz is “loosely” attached to star as MGM legend, Hedy Lamarr in a biopic focusing on her complicated and multifaceted life. The film entitled Face Value, will be directed by Amy Redford (daughter of Robert Redford), who made her directorial debut last year at the Sundance Film Festival.
