The Golden Globe nomination for RED gave it a serious boost in commercial appeal. The Summit Entertainment production made over a $100 million at the worldwide box office, and the unexpected nod was just icing on the cake. Now according to Collider, we can expect more geriatric hijinks to ensue because the studio has rehired RED screenwriters Jon and Erich Hoeber to pen a sequel!

RED MOVIE REVIEW: This weekend in theaters the old gang gets back together in RED to perform the ultimate heist — meaning a bunch of well known actors got paid to shoot a bunch of giant runs in nice clothing. Overall this is very much the film you think it’s going to be; it’s has plenty of funny jokes, moves right along, there’s a lot great actors saying cheesy lines that through anyone else’s mouth would make you cringe and a very thin but easy to watch story.

Seems to be a steady “eye” theme going on at this years Fantastic Fest. Odd and creepy — it works! Just released were seven new posters for Let Me In, Red, White and Blue, Nevermore… An Evening with Edgar Allan Poe, Rubber, X: The Man with the X-Ray Eyes, the Roger Corman Lifetime Achievement Award and the festival as a whole were just released before opening night!

Directly after the RED panel at Comic-Con the press got a chance to take part in an intimate gathering with the group where we got to pick their brains. Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, Karl Urban, producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura, graphic novel author Warren Ellis and graphic novel artist Cully Hamner were all in attendance and eager to answer our questions about their upcoming action-comedy.

Summit Entertainment was in the house with their panel for the graphic novel adaptation of RED with comic-book artist Cully Hamner, writer-creator Warren Ellis, actors Bruce Willis, Karl Urban, Mary-Louise Parker and Oscar winner Helen Mirren. The panel was actually pretty enjoyable. Mirren was hilarious. Urban was charming as usual, and Willis was — Willis. During the panel we got to see the new theatrical trailer for the film, and watch the actors get loose while answering some questions from fans.
