The actor who played Gollum in The Lord of the Rings has landed a new gig as the “main ape” in the Planet of the Apes prequel, Rise of the Apes. According to 20th Century Fox, he’s joining the cast that currently includes James Franco, Freida Pinto, and John Lithgow.
