This film has got Philip Seymour Hoffman, Bill Nighy, Rhys Ifans, Nick Frost, Tom Sturridge, Kenneth Branagh; it was written and directed by Richard Curtis (Love Actually); and it is based off a true story about a group of radio pirates who brought rock n’ roll to the UK in the 1960′s by boat. Do I really need to say anything else? You should be sold, hook, line, sinker.
You’ve got an amazing cast, a great writer and director, and amazing source material. It would be a feat to mess this one up.
Check out the trailer and photographs from the film below…
Academy Award winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman is about to make a transition that very few actors can pull off successfully. He’s going to try his hand at directing! According to /Film, Hoffman will be making his directorial debut with the comedy, Jack Goes Boating. The film is based off of the Bob Glaudini play of the same name, which appeared on Off Broadway. Hoffman will both direct and star in the feature alongside Academy Award nominee Amy Ryan (Gone Baby Gone).

Written and directed by John Patrick Shanley, Doubt, adapted for the screen, stars Oscar winners Philip Seymour Hoffman and Meryl Streep, and is supported by Oscar nominee, Amy Adams. Flynn, and restore order in her community. Continue Reading
I’m so excited to see this movie on it’s way to theaters. This is where “pirate” radio. Director Richard Curtis (Four Weddings and a Funeral, Love Actually) brings you another amazing film, with one of the best casts you could ever ask, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Bill Nighy, Rhys Ifans, Emma Thompson, Kenneth Branagh, Gemma Arterton and more in The Boat That Rocked.
Recently I had the pleasure of sitting down with Catherine Keener to talk about her upcoming film, written and directed by Charlie Kaufman, Synecdoche, New York. Catherine seems to be able to play any character you throw at her. Reuniting her and Philip Seymour Hoffman was a joy to watch. Their relationship is one in which Keener dreams of her husband dead and Hoffman looks for recognition in a woman who thinks nothing of him. The two of them together are so wonderfully painful to watch.
Keener was a joy to sit down with. She intelligent, witty, and very charming in her own special way. So without further ado, Cathrine Keener…
In many of the Kaufman scripts that you’ve worked on, you’ve played extremely strong women with artistic careers, how did you approach these strong female roles and which one was your favorite to play?

Charlie Kaufman, the visual genius behind the brilliant scripts “Being John Malkovich”, “Adaptation”, and “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” has created another amazing film starring none other that Philip Seymour Hoffman, Samantha Morton, Michelle Williams, Catherine Keener, Emily Watson, Dianne Wiest, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Hope Davis, and Tom Noonan. The only problem… no one seems to be able to pronounce the title… SYNECDOCHE, NEW YORK.
