If you’re too young to remember the 60′s, 70′s, or even 80′s, Peter Graves‘ name might not sound familiar, but for those of you who were around then, he was an icon. The actor who was best known for his role on the popular series “Mission Impossible” was found dead at his home in the Pacific Palisades on Sunday. If he had survived, he would have celebrated his 84th birthday this week.

Star of the late 1960s TV series Mission: Impossible, Peter Graves, has been honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, reports the Associated Press. Graves, now 83-years-old, attended the Los Angeles ceremony on Friday with his wife Joan, their children and grandchildren.
“[Today is] a red letter day in my life.” said a proud Graves.
Graves won a Golden Globe award in 1971 for his role as Jim Phelps in Mission: Impossible, as well as several Emmy Award nominations. Graves is also known for his role in the 1980 American comedy Airplane! where he played Captain Clarence Oveur.
