Over the past few months Screen Gems have released several photos from their upcoming Manga adaptation, Priest. They featured the title character played by Paul Bettany, his sidekick Cam Gigandet, the damsel in distress Lily Cole, and a kick-ass priestess played by Maggie Q.
Those guys are great and all but what about Karl Urban? He’s also in the film but has been missing from the group. He plays the character Black Hat and guess what — he’s a vampire! Screen Gems red-haired step-child, Priest has been delayed multiple times even though the film wrapped ages ago. The studio decided to convert it to 3D and also gave it a “final” release date of May 13, 2011. Canada’s version of Entertainment Tonight recently ran a behind the scenes segment on the upcoming Scott Stewart film, Priest. The manga adaptation reunites the director with his Legion star Paul Bettany and features a cast of actors who know a thing or two about vampires. This weekend, writer and first time director Scott Stewart will debut his action-thriller Legion to the masses. It’s a tale about the second coming of the apocalypse at the hand of a legion of angels. God sends his most trusted soldier Michael to unleash Hell on earth to punish mankind for their disobedience. Instead of carrying out his wishes, the Archangel has a change of heart and decides to protect the people instead.
