The end of the week brings us many interesting news stories. Today we have updates on the late-actress Brittany Murphy, Harry Potter, and Mel Gibson, whose acting come back has hit a rough patch. Want to be involved in a commercial that will be seen by a number of Hollywood professionals, the American people, and oh yeah, the President himself? Well now’s your chance! President Obama is turning to Hollywood to ask for support. In a grass roots effort to create a TV commercial to promote health care reform, a group of filmmakers have been selected to help pick a 30-second commercial that will air nationally. All you have to do, create a spot that you think is worthy by October 18!
First, we had W. Now we have Frost/Nixon. Is Obamathe Movie next? It will be is Will Smith has anything to say about it. For months Smith has been joking about taking on the role of Obama, but would he actually to it?
“That would be fantastic,” Smith said of the prospect of playing Barack Obama. “There are so many aspects of that story that people don’t know — that people would love to.” Although we won’t be seeing anything anytime soon, as Smith says “We’ll release it at the end of eight years” laughed the actor.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is officially wrapped. According to a quick note on Bay’s website, the principle photography is done, which puts them on track for a June 26th 2009 release. [FilmSchoolRejects]
Looks like they’re going to remake13 Tzameti, a huge indie hit in 2005. Allegedly Ray Winstone and Ray Liotta are joining Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham and Sam Riley in the English-version remake which will be written and directed by the original writer/director, Gela Babluani. [Variety]
Wanted co-writer Chris Morgan told MTV that he might be writing a sequel to the film. “The point is to continue the journey that Wes (James McAvoy) started in the first film. Wherever he ended up at the end of the film, now it’s time to move him forward.” [Spill]
