Three of the big films of 2012 are going to reinterpretations of fairy tales, but the one with the best credentials is Jack the Giant Killer. It comes from director Bryan Singer and the script was (at least partly) written by Christopher McQuarrie – and these guys were the team behind The Usual Suspects. Nicholas Hoult is becoming one to watch thanks to his upcoming film roster. The young actor will appear in this summer’s X-Men First Class, he’s signed on to play the title character in Jack the Giant Killer, and now he’s joined a zombie romance called Warm Bodies. According to Summit Entertainment, Hoult will headline the film.

Nicholas Hoult is having a great week. The young actor appeared in the premiere trailer for 20th Century Fox’s X-Men First Class, and now he’s landed the lead in another tentpole production — Jack the Giant Killer. According to Deadline, the former child star will appear as the title character in the film that will be directed ironically by X-Men and X2: X-Men United helmer Bryan Singer.

We’ve been hearing about Bryan Singer’s latest film Jack the Giant Killer for a while now, but there’s still no actor attached to play the lead. There have been plenty of rumors as to who the director would hire including I Am Number Four star Alex Pettyfer, but that connection was disregarded as a rumor. Over at THR, they seem to have some solid casting news that lists two of the U.K.’s biggest up and comers as front runners for the role: Nicholas Hoult and Aaron Johnson.
