Visionary director Duncan Jones is back with Source Code a film that maintains the intellect and sophistication of his first work Moon, but this time with whole lot more punch.  His latest film somehow manages to appeal to mainstream audiences with pace, action and effects, without losing the details, story and character development that we loved in Moon. Truly it’s the best of both. A number of directors fumble on their second films after having their first film have such an impact. Many people questioned Jones but any doubts that you might have are blown away by the time you’re finished with the opening sequence of Source Code.

Watch out JJ and Nolan, you’ve got some serious competition in town that’s ready to take you on…

Review: Eagle Eye

2799729825 a850c17e2a 154x240 Review: Eagle EyeHold on to your hats Summer Blockbuster fans, because just before the race to Oscar season starts to heat up, Hollywood is lobbing one final slam/bam explosion filled grenade at us. This one goes by the name of Eagle Eye and trust me, it’s a doozy. I’d like to be a responsible film critic and give you a short synopsis without giving to much away, but Eagle Eye borrows from so many films it’s hard to know where to begin. So please accept this tiny spoiler alert instead.

The Government is in danger of itself, only they don’t know it yet, and by the time they manage to figure it out, well, lets just say it’s going to be way to late. Through a strange twist of fate involving the most evil computer program you can think of, two characters portrayed by (Shia LaBeouf and Michelle Monaghan) are tasked with saving the day. Problem is, he’s wanted for a possible terrorist activity and she’s worried that her son won’t make it to brand practice on time. FBI investigator (Billy Bob Thorton) is hot on their trail, and nipping closely at his heels is an Air Force OSI officer, courtesy of (Rosario Dawson). Throw in an sound sensitive exotic gemstone that has the ability to blow up large areas of space and people, and there you have it.
