I know this may sadden millions of XXX fans around the world, but I’ve got bad news to report. Rob Cohen, the man who directed the 2002 hit starring Vin Diesel will not be returning for the third film. In an attempt to forget the abomination that was XXX: State of the Union Sony plans on producing a second sequel to the original entitled, XXX: The Return of Xander Cage. Yep, Diesel’s ready to return, but Cohen has opted to back out in favor of Medieval, a period piece for New Regency.

Don’t let the title fool you. The sole purpose of this article isn’t to bash the latest installment of the Terminator film franchise. My goal is to actually do the opposite. I’ve seen Terminator Salvation and read some critic and fan reviews, and I’ve noticed several concerns regarding the film’s placement in the series. The biggest complaint is that it isn’t a worthy successor to the the other films. With that being said, I can understand your frustration. I don’t think Salvation is a bad movie, I actually think it’s a great action flick. It’s just that it’s not supposed to be your typical action film, it’s supposed to be Terminator, so why doesn’t it fit with the rest of the series?

McG‘s film, Terminator Salvation starring Christian Bale and Sam Worthington will be released in theaters this Friday, May 22nd. One thing is for sure, McG’s personality is just as big as his films. It’s not everyday that you hear a Director say: “I’ve got no business. I’m base packing a Dura-Flame,”(and yes he is referring to what you think he’s referring too), “I definitely hate myself, I can promise you that,” and “Who calls himself McG?” all in one interview. In fact, McG is possibly the most energetic and yet oddly masochistic Directors I’ve ever spoken to.

9/10 of the times, we show up to interview filmmakers and wait at least an hour for them to arrive. But as I walked over to where I would be doing the interview, there was McG standing in the hallway, 15 minutes early, by himself, waiting eagerly for the press to arrive.

McG is surprisingly self aware of who he is and who the public thinks he is. He’s not out to try and fool you, he’s only out to try to impress you and if very eager to do so. After this interview, I he’s impressed be a bit, but more than that, he’s fascinated me.

Isn’t that a bad ass image of a Terminator skeleton? It just makes you think of the film’s long standing mythology and you get even more amped for Terminator Salvation’s release! If one photo does that how about 11 more? That’s right! I scoured the net and found a fresh batch of production stills promoting the long awaited feature. I think it’s safe to say, that many of us are curious to see what McG‘s interpretation of the Terminator series will be like. We know that he has taken a number of risks in making a prequel, as he’s admitted, that there is “not a happy little bow of an ending at all. The ending is tough and requires reflection.” Fans of the series may not be happy if he gets too creative on them. That being said, it looks like McG is feeling pretty confident about his upcoming, mega-blockbuster Terminator: Salvation. In fact, he’s so confident that the question isn’t, “if” he will be doing another Terminator film after this, but “what” the new film will be about.

With the release date of the highly-anticipated Terminator: Salvation quickly approaching, WB is really gearing up the advertising for the new movie. An “extended look” is set to air on Wednesday night, April 15, during the show Bones. Basically, Warner Brothers bought a lot of advertising slots and will show one long trailer. That’s actually kind of great. I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty excited about this movie.

The rating of Terminator: Salvation has been a little bit of an issue between the director, McG, and Warner Brothers; McG wanted the movie to have an R rating, and WB wanted to have a PG-13 rating. Obviously, a lower rating means the teenagers can watch the movie with ease. No sneaking in for the under 17 crowd! Apparently, McG fought a good fight, but the MPAA has officially come to the decision that the movie will have a PG-13 rating. WB studios 1, McG 0.

I’ve never thought of director McG as a song and dance kind of man so I was rightfully surprised when I heard that he wanted to tackle a musical. Maybe I should correct that, according to THR he will be tackling a musical. He is attached to direct and produce the popular contemporary rock production, Spring Awakening. He will be adapting the play for the screen alongside original author and songwriter Steven Sater.
